Sales are down, how too advertise Ebay store? Adcommerce.

We all remember Adcommerce that was cancelled in January I beleive. Well I have a confession... I miss it!

That program increased my sales on my ebay store drastically. I'm now selling approximately 40% of what i was last year for March, April, May. I wanted to give it some time to make a good comparission but it's obvious. My page views on the omnitures traffic reports are showing nearly 25% views compared to last year.(I know some people don't think its accurate!)

So I wanted to know if any of you are substituting the old adcommerce for a different advertising company. I would definately be willing to pay money to get the same outcome I was getting from Adcommerce

Any Thoughts?

Re: Sales are down, how too advertise Ebay store? Adcommerce.

AdCommerce for eBay.ca and eBay.com was cancelled in August 2010 while other countries (Australia, UK, Europe) were phased out at the end of 2010.

I loved AdCommercce as it increased the number of hits and sales on my listings by more than $2,000 a month.

eBay has not offered anything yet to replace it.  Patience.  It will take a few years before some new MBA at eBay comes up with a similar idea.

AdCommerce was the third similar program in the last eight years to offer sellers the ability to advertise on the search pages.  Each program typically lasts two years, and another year goes by before eBay offers something "better".

If ebay is just simply going to implement these pay per click advertising programs on a periodical basis , then maybe its time to look for something more permanent. I did a simple internet search and found companies like Bidvertiser,Google adwords. only to mention a few. Question is are they reputable and has anybody tried them. I don't expect the same results as adcommerce but if it's half of what they did, then im definately in.

Googleadwords is reputable in that they do what they say they will and do not just randomly charge you money without providing results.

Whether it is worth the money to you is your decision.

I subscribed to google adwords. Seems to do the same as adcommerce but in google searches not ebay searches. Problem seems that its pretty competitive but i'll keep you guys posted. It might be a good substitute!

Re: Sales are down, how too advertise Ebay store? Adcommerce.

I am currently using google adwords but for my own site, not eBay.

What I learned, and please note that this may be valid only for me in my domain, is that it is not worth the money to have your ad on the main page on a google search. It cost me an average of 1.25$ per click on prime time and the conversion rate was not there. This is because a lot of googlers are looking for rules or strategies and are not buying the actual product. But they are still clicking on the ad and I get charge 25$ to 40$ a day. This make no sense for my business size at this time.

I reduced my bid to something between 0.15$ and 0.25$ so now my ads mostly appear on other web sites and not on a google search. This makes more sense to my business right now and it does drive a little traffic to my store.

Bare with me that I may still appear in the core section of a google search. That is free.

Gobama

Interesting about adwords, I just increased my daily limit to $2 a day. (this is my test run)

My average clicks was only 8¢, this month.

So my advertising only cost $52.00 this past month.

I have been tweeking my keywords so only the best words get hits, and everything has been getting better.

Been taking the google adwords classes on utube to get the best bang for my bucks.

Well its working! I'm driving more people to my store homepage. but ouch!! very expensive..I don't mind if the sales increase so i will monitor for a bit.

I know there's the option to track which sales are a result of the add, but have you guys found a way to implement it? It's a little complicated for me.

My cart was already supporting Google Analytics so I only had to copy the cookie on my site and then enter my account number in my cart admin section.

But beware that this tool may not record all the sells properly. On my site, customers are redirected on my credit card processor site when they pay or on Paypal's site. The sell will not be recorded by google if they do not come back properly to my site (i.e. pressing the go back to godboma site button).

But other than that, google analytics is a great tool to follow your stats.
