Do American sellers realize people are not going to buy their stuff? Or, at the very least, they are losing additional bids that could get them higher prices? I refuse to bid on something that has an outrageous shipping cost. A handbag shipping for 60 dollars??? Really??? Wow.

And as a Canadian seller I am delighted to hear this.
As a Canadian buyer of purses, I am also pleased to hear that I will have less competition. (Okay, that was tongue in cheek.)
You can ask potential sellers, before bidding, if they will ship directly by USPS/CanadaPost and not use the GPS, and they are allowed to agree. You should be aware that they get a tiny discount on their fees for using the program and are not told about the problems it causes for their customers.

I have asked some and they have lowered the price, however, I tire of emailing people all the time . . . now, if they don't have a reasonable shipping cost listed, I simply do not bid. Saves me money, so maybe it's a good thing! Clearly, sellers are profiting off of the shipping.
