I'm having issues having items shipped to my Taiwan address from China recently. I bought 4 items from China, sellers of all 3 items notified me that either Chinese custom returned or refused the shipment to my address (or Taiwan, they were not specific). The 4th item was so happened that the seller discovered it was a defect when preparing the shipment.
Has anyone having the similar issue with the purchase from China?

This is a sixty year old political situation between PRC (China) and RC (Taiwan or Formosa).
PRC considers Taiwan a province of PRC while RC (Taiwan) considers it rules over all of China (PRC).
Nothing to do with eBay-Canada.
I still remember the "good old days" (1970's) when Canada was one of the first countries to recognize PRC while the USA still supported Taiwan as the "true government of China". As a Canadian, I had to get a yearly visa from New York consulate to travel to Taiwan and such visa was printed on a separate piece of paper and could not be stamped in one's passport or entry into China (PRC) would be refused.

There was an announcement on ebay Canada two years ago about items with lithium batteries being delayed from Hong Kong due to screening. Is this potentially part of the situation?

Long shot but it's all that I got.

Thanks both for your inputs. I ordered the similar items from different sellers also from China (due to the distance and of course the "$"). I was notified that two items shipped but one item has the estimate delivery set to Dec 29 - Feb 9. I inquired the seller and he assured me the delivery should not exceed 30 days.

I wouldn't buy from that guy.
If he thinks it would take 30 days, he should set it like that.
Remember that if he can keep his suckers customers waiting over 60 days they can neither start an eBay Dispute for a refund nor leave feedback.
So look at his FB suspiciously.
Paypal will entertain complaints for 180 days and he may not have caught on to that yet. And of course, many naive new buyers, dazzled by low prices, will not know how to make that PP dispute.
