Why can't we watch the countdown on our items being sold, now?

Until recently, we could watch the countdown on items we were selling and watch the bid action. Now we don't know if it sells until the item ends. WTF is going on with E-Bay changing this feature? Is there another way to watch the countdown that I am unaware of? Thanks for any suggestions you may have.
