The only Reason you would want to sell in US Funds is if a huge chunk of your customers are US based..

The only Person US Funds Attracts are US buyers..

If you do not have a Large US Customer base you are paying conversion fees for nothing ...

For me 90% of my customer base is Canadian so I would never list in US because there is no point because Canadians are not really attracted to having to deal with Conversion rates....

Buyers from anyone but US and Canada Don't Really care because they have to convert either way ...

US Currency if your majority is based in the US other then that save yourself some money... Even US buyers will buy regardless of the Currency if they want

I do a lot of business outside Canada and the U.S.  I have found that people relate better to the U.S. dollar in other countries.  In some countries, it is (or has been in the past) the only stable currency.

When I used to list in Canadian funds, I got a lot more questions about exchange - a lot of people like to ask rather than look it up themselves.

I work on the basis that everyone understands the US dollar and the US consumer understands nothing else.

The US economy remains the largest in the world and the US consumer nearly the richest in the world. (A few years ago The Economist gave the average US family income as $40K, and remember that would include welfare and pensioner families.)

We do see a lot of Canadians who are baffled by the concept of foreign exchange. But we can offer to bill our Canadian customers in Canadian dollars if we want to.

I still say go with your customer base.. I did 150,000 in sales last year with just under 8k being US so I would never bother listing in US to have to pay a conversion fee and when I did list in US it made 0 difference but this is just my experience in myu category ..

Everything everyone is saying is very true but where are all your custmers from to you have enough sales and profit to absorb the Conversion fee is what I think will give you the correct answer to your question..

Last Week I made an $750 sale to a guy in the US paid no questions asked.. I offer all the best prices I can with leaving me very little room to absorb anything other then a few MIA Parcels so paying a conversion fee is no good for me ..

Internationally US fund sell better but I target Canadians so Don't bother with the headache of worldwide seling

Op just look at what really happens on the site.  You could start with surplusbydesign, probably the highest $grosser shipping worldwide from Canada, 100% in CAN$

Don't at all understand posts about foreigners not understanding exchange.  None of the Americans or overseas customers are buying from us on ..ca, they are buying on their own sites where ebay shows the exchanged amount.  Everyone pays through paypal where the exchange is done for them
