We are starting a new thread here for you to post your concerns when you encounter an eBay issue or bug and have un-tacked the previous thread that has been around since the beginning of 2008.
Here are some important things to point out:
1. This is not eBay Customer Support. All bugs and site issues should be reported to CS to ensure that they are escalated & tracked. You can report issues to CS using Contact Us. Enter a brief description of the issue you are encountering into the search box and select the most appropriate topic(s).
2. We would like to keep this thread as organized and purpose-driven as possible. If you don't have a bug or site issue to discuss, please consider posting to a different board/thread.
3. Provide as much detail as possible when describing your Issue.
Thanks -
Kalvin

Your feed to Google product search still isn't working properly.
I've had this product;
UHMW repro black sheet 2.75 x 13.75 x 16.875(22.4K)
Listed here for over 3 months and it still doesn't come up on Google Product search, which is about 25% of my traffic.
Hi Surplus,
Vincenzo is looking into this one- thanks for the heads up!

Hi Surplus,
For CA there is actually no Google product search and we aren't submitting any items listed on eBay.ca to Google Product Search. However, items listed on eBay.com are listed in google product search, however we have absolutely no control or insight into how items are surfaced there. Google has advanced algorithms to determine relevance, ranking and whether or not they want to show certain items. eBay makes sure that we do what is necessary to submit our sellers' items (from .com) to Google and are constantly improving our submissions, but again, how those items are surfaced is completely determined by Google.
Thanks

I have reported to eBay two issues recently.
When an item sells and I click on the item, the amount it sold for is different than what it ACTUALLY sold for.
The other issue is that when I run an invoice, lets say in March I run January and then again in May - the Sales figures are different. And if I go to the ACCOUNT tab and click on Sales Summary, the sales amounts again are different.
Really fun trying to figure out my sales and expenses each month.

International Shipping needs to break out USA from International
When listing on ebay.ca, we have Domestic and International shipping. However, because the USA is so close to Canada in North America, the shipping options are special for the USA when compared to the world.
When using calculated shipping, you may need to have different amounts for handling fees for the USA and the world. Currently you have to group the USA with International.
As mentioned in an earlier post, the shipping calculator gets confused with the USA and lists it as both USA and International when calculating shipping fee.
As for sellers using eBay.com, Canada should also be treated differently that other International sipping options. Same concern for handling fees could be an issue.

Regarding this issue mentioned very early in this thread
2) eBay shipping calculator does not allows sellers using PayPal shipping Canada Post option for Expedited Parcel to Canada and the USA to pass on the 25% discount. So when using the calculator, the shipping cost is not competitive when buyers view the listings. I offer a discount in the description of but buyers do not see it and pay first. I have to do a PayPal partial refund, which is annoying.
I was told in another thread that the Fall Seller updates states that a shipping discount option will be available and may solve this problem above (?? Not a good answer as it is not definite).
My question is how is this discount going to be implemented. Hopefully better than handling fees or current combined shipping discounts.
For example, is it going to be applied to the current structure of Domestic and International grouping like handling fees are? Or is it going to apply to the individual option within the groupings.
In International, as stated in the previous post, the USA is a special case of International for Canada. So when I set up International shipping options for USA, I would like to offer a discount for Expedited USA, the infamous 25% that PayPal users get when using PayPal shipping. I am hoping that the discount option can be set individually by each shipping option within International. I do not want International users outside the USA to get 25% off.
Sometimes, I list Small Packet Air USA and Expedited USA, as Expedited is cheaper for locations close to me. I would want 25% off to show only on the Expedited USA. (And again not on other International locations like UK, France…)

On eBay UK if you click on "Board Usage Policy" you get this highly detailed page with lots of useful links.
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/everyone-boards.html
On eBay Canada all we get is this page.
http://pages.ebay.ca/help/policies/everyone-boards.html
With a link to "Community Values" which basicaly tells you if you want to know something to ask on the forums.

When shipping with PayPal, sometimes the dimensions are sent to PayPal from and inches are ticked off instead of CM. Most of the time it leaves the weight in KGM so the PayPal shipping page refuses to go on because of mixed dimensions. Very annoying, happens 1 in 20-25 times..

Shipping - continued
10) Shipping DSR's
How can buyers who for the most part know nothing about the shipping costs, the different ways to ship and delivery times be allowed to rate sellers on this?
I am very careful when selling an item to make sure I offer the lowest cost shipping possible. I know my shipping service options, I know my price breaks on shipping weights, and I know the different types of packing material to use to keep weight down.
I am a small seller and recycle shipping boxes and packaging. I am very careful on my shipping weight since it is the biggest factor in cost at the low end of shipping. I am selling items under 500 grams for the most part.
Trying to get into a 100-gram class for Letter mail or Light Packet, or the 250-gram class. Getting under the 250-gram class for Small Packet or the 250-gram class. I know that a PayPal label on a box and a packing slip in the box cost me 8-10 grams; packing tape on a box costs me 1-2 grams.
I know which materials to use that are light when I am close to the weight breaks, and am smart enough to use the heavier materials for items that are not close to the weight limit. I try to save light materials and light boxes for the critical items close to the weight breaks. I optimize all the factors and then use the least expensive shipping option in my listing to have the least possible cost to the buyer. All my items for sale have the shipping carefully thought out to minimize the cost and attract potential buyers. I do not add any shipping and handling charges.
I had to learn all this about shipping and now can do this all quickly without much thought.
But for all this effort, I get dinged with 4's in shipping DSR’s once in a while. All this by someone who does not have a clue what shipping is about.
PS
I do know that eBay is very aware of shipping DSR’s and that the next Seller Update is going to try and resolve some of these issues. I am just adding this well know gripe to the list of shipping issues for completeness.
Personally, I think buyers cannot be allowed to rate shipping if they have no idea of the costs and shipping options available and how shipping works. The classic example is an item where shipping is 2-3-4 times the value of the item no matter what shipping service and class that you can use for this item shape and weight. The buyer reaction is “What $5 for the item and $9 to ship? What a rip-off!” And poof, there goes the DSR’s.
Hello,I am curious what other Canadian Sellers have to say about this
I am a seller, 90% of my listings are in .com,because I need the variations part of my listings... but I want to point out my observation, I am getting bad Shipping Scores DSSR's from Canadians, not the US, but Canadians, you see I can ship Air Mail to the US For $6.94, any where in the states for that price, I ship to Ontario, cost is around the same Expedited, I ship out west out east and the same product cost between $10.00 and $11.00 to ship, I'm not sure what to do, some older listings I charge a flat rate and eat the cost if someone Out west buys from me and the Eastern Provinces, I really wish that we had the choice on ebay.ca to choose a price for each province not just Canada in general...does this make sense? is anyone else have this problem?

Can the page that shows "Board Usage Policy" be expanded upon?
On eBay UK if you click on "Board Usage Policy" you get this highly detailed page with lots of useful links.

On eBay Canada all we get is this page.

Hi Scruffy-
Thanks for bringing this up! I've submitted some changes to the referenced page which should hopefully go live in the next day or two. That said, the layout for help pages on UK and CA is different, which explains some of the apparent "lack" of information. eBay.com and eBay.ca use a collapsible format so most of what appears to be missing on the CA page from the UK page is actually under the three headings below the primary content. Just click on the arrow in the gray bar to expand the section.
Thanks again for calling this out though, I needed to update the page!

There needs to be controls in place to prevent misuse of ebays/paypals dispute system; especially now that were were all accountable for disputes. The fact that an "item not as described" or "item not received" claim can be filed moments after payment is in my opinion a huge bug in the system.
Case in point / Buyer forgets to add his apartment number into paypal address, within minutes of payment realizes his mistake and files a "item not received" case.. Why is this even possible? ..... this needs to be fixed.

No more followup from eBay? What is the status of all these issues. eBay asked for a list of issues and no status report.
Disappointing. Communications with eBay is so poor.
