I was wondering if I get a refund because item arrives after the delivery deadline and I receive the item later, do I have to refund the seller?

Of course.

You cannot ethically keep both the money and the item.

Most shipping delays are out of the hands of the seller. If the seller shipped in a timely manner (eBay allows seven days but most sellers try to get paid items into the mailstream within 48 hours, weekends and holidays permitting.)
