Hello Fellow Sellers
I have an issue that seems to be cropping up a lot. I just noticed when I went to pay for something that there's this huge attractive blue button that says it will be so much easier and faster to link your ebay account to your paypal account, and I almost did it by accident....then I realized this is why I get so many multiple purchases with payments and buyers emailing me to tell me that they can't purchase anything without paying even on ebay.ca. Ebay has encouraged a shopping cart on .com and said they are rolling out a shopping cart on .ca in the future but doesn't this defeat the purpose of a shopping cart if people are forced to pay for each item individually..? Normally I enjoy a fast payment however I do NOT enjoy having to refund through multiple purchases because I can't refund whole items or I suffer a defect. Also having to go into multiple listings and adjust shipping charges for one customer and hoping that others won't purchase the rest of the stock before I can change the shipping back again. We can't sell items that aren't purchased so this really does pose the question of what to do? I'm so tired of seeing people overpay their shipping by HUGE amounts and ebay's answer was..then offer free shipping. This is not practical due to the huge difference between US shipping charges and Canadian- this would mean that the Canadians would be paying much higher prices overall and even though I could refund the overpayments it will probably turn away sales due to the higher prices. I can't afford to pay $6.37 shipping to the US on an item I'm only getting $9.99 for and to charge the Canadian buyer $16.36 just so the US sees free shipping makes it unrealistic. Some sellers state if you don't wait for an invoice items will be shipped separately...well this link system means their buyers can NOT wait for an invoice- it's not even an option for them...so are we supposed to ship out 35 items with shipping charged for each? I can just imagine the negatives for that practice. Any advice would be gladly welcomed...!
