new allotments of listings different answer on .ca than .com

I asked the question on .com how the allotments work with the new system and got the following reply and then looked on the .com boards and found a totally different answer from the staff.

answer on .ca - note the comments after EDIT

Hi Raphael

Are the new listing quotas posted in announcements this month permanent or just an incentive for the holidays. That is 20 + 20 will now be 50 and store from 150 to 200 listings. The announcement as usual was not very clear.

Also the time frame which is the 15th instead of 1st. Will we get our normal quota until the 15th and then a new quota for the rest of the month and what happens on Nov 1?

As far as I know, it's a permanent change, until the next update. Smiley Wink

EDIT: The free listing cycle isn't moving to the 15th of the month. You are still going to get X free listings per calendar month. The new system starts on Oct 15th, all this means is that if you had 12 free listings used out of 20 on Oct 14th, you'll have 12 used out of 50 on the 15th.

Hi Jeff & Griff
Under my store promotional offers the dates read

Start: 10/01/15 00:00:00 PDT
End: 10/14/15 23:59:59 PDT

For both my fixed price & auction style.
Does this mean it starts a whole new cycle on 10/15 starting me at 200 fixed price & 100 auction style. Or just adding 50 to fixed & allowing me to list my
auctions in fashion & collectibles of my remaining auctions I have left.
Thanks

Hello,

Yes, you will have a brand new allotment starting October 15 - effectively restarting the monthly allotment. This means that you have more free listings than normal in October if you have already used your allotment before October 15. Important to note, this new allotment will only apply to affected areas (Non-stores, Basic Store subscriber's fixed price allotment, and for all Store subscriber's, the auction-style allotment for collectibles and fashion categories).

Thank you for selling on eBay.

Good question.  It makes a huge difference and it would be nice to be sure which is correct before the 15th.

Raphael says the .com boards is correct but I guess we have to wait until 10/16 to see what it says. I will not use up the 2000 free listing special so not that important to me.
