Ebay needs to remove the 9% they charge on shipping.
My customers ask me for a better shipping deal, i tell them that 9% prevents me from doing any better.
It has done its job, its time to remove it.

I think we all agree on removing those fees but it's like gas prices once they get us to pay over a certain amount it NEVER goes back down. They also should review their policy on what qualifies for a negative feedback, I don't think sellers should be faulted for buyers who don't read the description or even the title or how to use a variation listing. I just got a negative because a buyer was confused, thought they bought a lot of 10 books when in fact they only purchased one and left a negative because they were irritated by the listing. Honestly!! That's MY fault how?

A listing with 10 totally different books is not a variation listing.
A variation listing would be something such as wool, same everything but in eight different colors. color is the variation...
Books have to be listed separately because the contents of each is different
If you had 5 of the same book, each with a different colored cover that would be a variation.
The content of each book is the same... with color of the cover being the variation.
Buyer had every right to be unhappy...

Hello,
well cumos you should check out other variation listings- crafts and UK Dungeons & Dragons all take advantage of listing items that are similar, in particular- these books were all published by the same publisher/author, etc and you will see that there are thousands of variations listed with multiple titles. Examples are items #121007832793, 310493629656, 300790392179 and all I did was search "cross stitch your choice" and I got 216 results, you can get just the same with almost any other category in crafts. If you look at these listings you will see multiple books and prices. Ebay is encouraging this type of listing and is supporting me, they won't remove the negative because it doesn't go against their "buyer's perception policy" because at this time it doesn't break any rules however every representative has agreed it's wrong and paypal has insisted she return the book which she is refusing to do although she still wants a refund. I fulfilled my end of the transaction.

for some reason the UK gets options for variations that we don't, here's variations in the Dungeons & Dragons item numbers
221137198494, 221138530535, 221138530533 and so on.....
so if this is not what Ebay wants in a variation listing then Ebay should be more specific. They say "You can have 250 total variations within a single listing" personally I can't imagine 250 different colors or sizes of a single item!!

I've debated for a long time whether or not to use this format but Ebay is going one step further, they say they will be allowing combining of listings down the road. Don't know how that will work and I guess a lot of people will be complaining for the first month because if you have 100 listings that just charged 5 cents each in a monthly rollover and then you combine them you would be paying all those fees until the next month when they go down to one. I just wish they would allow these types of listings on magazines where you really can just pop in titles and months. If their goal is to reduce the amount of listings on their servers magazines would make a considerable dent. Now I can see 250 magazines in one listing...LOL
