Billing Collection Credit?

i was surprised to get a 'we sent your payout' email from ebay today given that i haven't had a sale in many weeks.  It was for a 'billing collection credit'.   I gather i'm not the only one who got this.  What is it?

@fergua3

Do you use Expedited lite? Have you checked to see if you were correctly billed each time you used? Most likely it is a credit for 1 of those recent shipments. Not sure if you open the charge if it specifies which shipment it relates to. A number of sellers have received recently. Consider it a Christmas present from eBay.  😁. There was a ticket opened on this issue, but believe it has now been closed with credits being applied as eBay filters through the shipments.

Re: Billing Collection Credit?

no that's not it.

I have sort of figured it out.  Long ago, when i was dragged kicking and screaming into Managed Payments i once got a montly charge for some little thing..   I recognized the charge ebay was giving me was incorrect so i called Customer Service.  After a long affair, they agreed that it was an improper charge and canceled it.  And that was that.......or so i thought.

A few days later i noticed i had a CREDIT for $12.41 USD in my billing account.  I had no idea why since i had not been charged any money by Ebay.  Month after month, when i got my monthly bill from Ebay for charges, i had this 12.41 credit (i never once incurred any extra monthly charges such as for listing fees etc so the credit was never used).  A few weeks ago i happened to notice the credit vanished, so i assumed it had expired or something.  But the money being transferred to my bank account today is the CAD equiv. of 12.41 USD.   So i'm pretty sure that's where the money is coming from but i still am not sure why i got the credit in the first place.
