Category changes

What is going on here?  I have spent years carefully crafting my listing categories on an individual basis.  Which age my comic is from, which character is featured, etc.  It appears today that all of my work has been overwritten with an identical, generic category.  Now, all of my 800+ comics all pretty well say comic or graphic novel.  This is no good to anyone.  This is getting ridiculous.  How much work will it take me to re-enter all of my info into the new item specifics area?  I'm a bit of a tough guy, but I feel like crying!

It is discouraging that we were not given a lead in period.

This seems to be the move to using Item Specifics which can be read by third party browsers (aka Google).

My method in dealing with this is to go to my Active Selling List each day and see which about to close items have a Note about IS changes REQUIRED.

Then click on the Note which gives me a popup where those changes can be made.

It also allows you to look at the original listing if you need to pull information from there. (I have long descriptions of my books including a resume of the plot and some info not demanded of books, like the name of the cover artist.)

I'm reviewing about 20 a day, of which, in Books, only about eight or nine actually need updates.

It's also allowed me to review pricing and shipping, which has led to a few changes.
