EIS- US

I had someone try to buy an item from the US. EIS is ON. They say it shows I do not ship US. I can't seem to find any errors in my shipping policies.. any thoughts?

Re: EIS- US

The item category may not be allowed to ship via eIS is the 1st thing that comes to mind. Buyer may have come across your item via a Google search, etc.

What was the item that didn't offer EIS?

FYI - Of your 631 current listings only 526 are made available to US buyers via EIS.

Another possible reason your buyer may not be able to purchase from you is if they’re using a post office box as their delivery address. eIS does not support shipping to PO boxes.

I did find one listing of yours where the US is not listed as a “ships to” location but also doesn’t show up on the exclusion list, though. (The vintage barometer/thermometer set.)

For the vintage barometer if it includes mercury it would be on the no fly list with eIS. Appears to be mechanical. If it sold with another item as an auction/best offer it could not be shipped using combined shipping as per ebay regulations.

You generally cannot sell mercury thermometers on eBay because they are considered hazardous materials and are restricted both by eBay's policies and by various shipping and safety regulations. Attempts to list them may result in the item being removed by eBay's automated systems.

There are still many countries listed as ships-to locations for that listing, though, @lotzofuniquegoodies, but I’m not sure if eIS is a shipping method for these locations. (I’m on my phone and changing shipping locations is difficult.)

The only issue on that I could see is if mercury is part of the assembly. It still would have to be a permitted item with CP/USPS etc. Concern would be leakage during transit.

As a side don't ya just "luv" the assorted nuances between app and pc version of eBay. Not a thing for me. I don't/won't ever use the app. Just not a fan of downgrades. Personally more of a concern for me between the features dot com has to what ca doesn't.

Re: EIS- US

I am now enrolled into eIS and I see a lot of my listings are not showing up for the US. I have the same puzzlement as the OP. I can see no rhyme or reason for that. Withing the same categories (shoes, clothes or yarns are some that I noticed) some listings get eIS treatment and some don't. I'm methodically going through all of my listings and revising them and I can also see that it doesn't depend on listings having the COO specifies or not. I originally thought that it just that the change didn't apply to all listings at once when I was enrolled, but it's been a week and I still see a lot of them without the IS.

I guess for me it doesn't make much difference since nobody from the US buys anything from me anyway, they have enough of all of that inside the US and without insane shipping. That is my biggest problem.

All 1079 of your listings seem to be viewable by the eIS-supported locations that I checked.

Re: EIS- US

Thank you for checking it for me!

It does look strange though, maybe I'm going about it in a wrong way? I check my listings from a private browser session with the US zip code and see a lot of them not having the eIS shipping option, only my crazy $150 UPS shipping. (I set that up for all my listings when I had several buyers refuse to pay UPS charges and I didn't want to close US sales for possible algorithm "consecquenses". So now I use it to see which of my listings got the eIS shipping, it's easy to spot.) Doesn't the fact that many listings only have $150 UPS shipping mean that the US buyers can't buy them through eIS?

Re: EIS- US

I found one of your listings (Vintage Lululemon Scuba Hoodie) with C$150 UPS shipping to the States and changed the shipping location to Ireland, and eIS came up as the shipping method for that, so it would appear that there's something about the listing (and the others) that's making eIS a no-go to the US.  Perhaps it's the lack of Country of Origin/Manufacture information in the Item Specifics section?  The Import Fees can't be calculated accurately without that information, and if the eIS calculator is taking a worst case scenario for those fees into account, perhaps the total of the eIS total shipping charge plus the import fees is even more than your UPS shipping charge?

On a slightly different note, I see that the Blue Banner of Death isn't hanging over this listing.  There's a more modest note in the shipping section of the listing now, instead.  In your case, the note accurately states that the buyer will be paying fees upon delivery if they go with the UPS option.

I have the same issue with all my listings and can't find the solution. I can ship pretty much anywhere thru eIS except the US. Grrr.

Re: EIS- US

Do you have the place of manufacture included on all your listings that you want to ship to the USA?
If you don't, the listing will not appear on dotCOM.

Not sure what happens if the US member is looking at such a listing on dotCA.

You're selling auto parts?  Are they CUSMA compliant?  Would the computer code or AI going through your listing "know" that?

Re: EIS- US

Check the rest of your listings, (as long as they are in allowed categories as others have mentioned) and see if some listings have the pricing using eIS and some which give the "seller will ship blah blah blah" message..  if this is the case then it's the same issue which many (including myself) have been finding and dealing with .. (we talked about it in https://community.ebay.ca/t5/Seller-Central/Another-Canada-Post-eIS-Glitch/m-p/533428#M171328) I've reported this issue to eIS / ebay but not gotten a response as of yet.

Re: EIS- US

I have the exact issue (I am a top rated seller, with every listing having their Country of Orgin, they are small items, clothes, shoes, collectibles etc... and meet all the EIS regulations. I have about 680 listings, with 300 of them not shipping to United States... yet ALL 680 will ship to every other Country EIS offers. (USA is not on the list of countries I ship to for about 300 listings (Even stranger is that they are also NOT on the excluded list.... which is confusing).

I have one business policy, with standard shipping domestically and no options for international shipping, with EIS turned on... 380/680 ship to USA, and 300 don't..... how can some ship to USA and others do not if I have the same policy for all of them (Again all mostly clothes,  smaller  things ebay allows to ship with EIS)....

Listed 10 t-shirts last night, and about 5/10 wont ship to USA....

THIS HAS TO BE A GLITCH THAT EBAY WON'T TELL US ABOUT. I genuinally think that Ebay is doing this on purpose to slow down the bottle neck affect at the Mississauga Ebay location, where they send to USA/international countries. (NO ONE AT EBAY WILL HELP ME).
