Post conversion Selling Manager functionality.

So while I wait for a version of a tool that actually works, I manually converted a few listings to .com. I was assured (by Raphael) that even if the listing were listed on .com, they could be fully maintained through selling manager pro on .ca.  Well, they can't (at least it has not worked for me). Basically if whatever reason you chose to manually re-list, you will have to do so using the different versions of selling manager on both sites. In other words you cannot relist .com items through selling manager on .ca. This will be asked at the next weekly pow-wow....

" In other words you cannot relist .com items through selling manager on .ca."

I do that all the time if relisted (or revised) individually

If using bulk relist (or bulk sell similar) then they can only be listed when you are logged in on the site you wish to relist on.

You can start to relist or sell similar an individual .com listing on .ca but you will end up on the .com site.  It doesn't give you an error message like it would if you were using the bulk too so if you are already signed into both sites, it's easy to miss that you are now on .com.

Re: Post conversion Selling Manager functionality.

I know that with selling manager the free version, you have to download it on both sites so I imagine the same is true of smp. But I don't think that Raphael knew whether or not you would have to pay 2 subscriptions for pro on 2 sites.

Have you tried signing into both sites, start to revise the listing on .ca and see if it will carry over to .com?

Well no...It's not easy to miss on which site you are. The interface on the .com site is completely different. Just visually you know which site you're on/.

I'm only interested in bulk relist. Relisting individually is time consuming and not a workable solution. I will however test if both instances of a browser session (.com, .ca) are open and logged in, if the bulk error still persists.

"if the bulk error still persists.   "

It is the way the bulk tools are designed.

Let's say you have listings on both eBay.ca and eBay.com and select many for relisting (including some from both sites).  After you click relist, eBay will accept those listings from that site and automatically give you an error message for all those from a different site.

I am well aware of the behaviour Pierre. And as an FYI I tested what I suggested in the last post and the error persists. I'm also aware of all the workarounds that can be implemented as a result of Ebay forcing this change onto sellers including the migration tool itself. One can also choose to have their car pulled by a horse instead of gassing it up. Not all that efficient...Is it...The issue is that the question was asked (and answered) that any "mixed currency" functionality would remain and be seemless. In other words assurances were made that we would continue to have all the "practical" functionality as we did before (relisting, labels, payments, etc)....from a single interface. This is an example where if one wants to used dual currencies, they also have to invoke dual interfaces.

Having both sites open will not make a difference in the bulk tool. As mentioned, you can only use it for listings originating on that site.

The dual login does not work. But you do bring up an interesting point. Because the store subscription is a Canadian one and it comes with selling manager pro, when logged into the US site it doesn't seem to be the case (SMP). I say "seem" because I'm not sure of what the "pro" version of the interface looks like on the .com site.

I was referring to individual listings with the dual login. When I suggested that I wasn't aware that you were referring to bulk listings only.

I would be very surprised if you have smp on .com unless you have actually downloaded it there.   I found some posts on smp on the retirement of USD discussion board. In post 448 Raphael suggests that a seller who is transferring their listings to .com might want to cancel the .ca version and subscribe to the .com version. That  isn't ideal though if you are listing on both sites.
