Update your listings to keep them compliant

One of my comic book listings is signed and contains a Certificate of Authenticity.  Ebay incorrectly has marked this as "personal contact information" and has threatened to delist the item if I don't "make it compliant"

how do I edit my listing so this it is not marked?

Listing: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/185224024142

Yeah, you have a live image link here 185224024142.
I also checked a half dozen of your other listings and did not find a live link in any of those. Even with the link code removed that image is still non compliant though because of the website address, that's a no go zone.

I'm guessing the image includes not only the logo but also the text wrapped around it. If so that would simplify the job of removing the whole works and it needs to be gotten rid of, it's near impossible to read using the app. First thing the app is so confused it doesn't even attempt to render a preview snippet, second the logo and associated text is gigantic causing an unwieldy scrolling problem, third the actual description and TOS font size is fantastically miniscule requiring a pinch and 5x zoom to read any of it. Most mobile shoppers, the majority of prospective buyers, will exit immediately.

On the plus side, I really like that there is a see my other items link. I'd lose the image and trim the TOS to highlight that link.

Why do you think it’s the authenticity certificate that’s triggering the compliance bot?

I think it’s more likely a combination of the high selling price and your “contact us” blurb for combined shipping. I realize that’s on all of your listing descriptions but I suspect the value of the item gave it a nudge.

Try rewording—or even eliminating—that “contact us” blurb and see if that helps.

It's NOT the certificate!!!!!!

Your problem is with the giant logo in your description, actually twofold because when you copied/pasted that logo you unintentionally included a link (only visible in html view)

You need to dump the logo for sure as it has an obvious (non-active) url in it but that might not be what set off the alert. More likely it's the hidden link.

Just before the logo and after "Shipped in a sturdy, secure mailer: you have an active link to "ibb.co" that probably got there via copy/paste from an online web page.

Revise the listing and remove those two offending things and you will be good to go.

Go to eBay.com Seller Tools forum. Explain your situation as you did here. There is an eBay community member called shipscript who will answer within a few hours and custom design an eBay script to fix all your issues. She will run it and update your listings with minimal work on your part.

The logo has a url right in it.  In addition to the live link others pointed out, the image with the url is not compliant.   You can pop the logo into MS Paint and white out the .ca text.   As it stands it is an ad for a non-Ebay site, and that is not compliant of course.

Thank you.  I rebuilt the page from my template and I have not trigger the bot again so far.

Appreciate the time spent by all.

Your changes are a massive improvement for app users. Everything is now adapting to fit the user's screen size which is great. My old eyes would prefer a slightly larger font size on a narrow phone screen but it's manageable, I find that flipping my phone around to landscape mode increases the font size to a comfortable reading size. Tablet users should be fine.

You are still in risky territory!

The logo with the URL (non-active) is still there, still a violation. Bots won't see it but grumpy customers or competitors can and if they report.........

FYI - You still have the hidden active link in one listing, 184179663711

The bots probably wouldn't care but that url does not direct one to a live site, the domain is registered though ...  expires in 02/2022.
