Shipped an item yesterday and was away for two days and it needed to be shipped day I got home so I dropped it into corner mail box last night. I did mark it as shipped on eBay and left feedback but forgot to add the tracking number at that time. (Long drive home, I was tired.) I buy through Canada Post Shipping so tracking doesn't get added automatically. Small Pkt to the USA. If I add tracking number now will it show up as a late shipment?

Your best off to update as soon as possible. From past experience if you update down the road...either because of a typo or a request due to an INR system believes you've processed late. Not true but how system was programmed. Originally was under the impression the trigger was scans. From my testing it's label created/item shipped. If you are really concerned you can touch base with ebay cs and let them know it was just late data entry. You "should" be fine.

As an FYI as a practice I add the UR tracking right after I create. The first actual scan in the eBay system is 4 to 6 days later at LAX. Delivery is usually 4 or 5 days later with the updates. That seems to keep the banana boat happy.

Other factor in play, did the physically entering of tracking still fall in your handling time settings? If it did, you should be fine.

Well really doesn't matter any more. I must have been more tired than I realized because today it showed up as a late shipment! I am so SURE that I marked it as shipped and left feedback for my buyer as well. I had quite a few orders to send out between all my IDs that I guess I just thought I had done it. I did have a good nights sleep though, I was so tired, so I guess that's one good thing anyway. Oh well, I guess I'll have to live with it for the next year.

One of those lates is not bad. It's if you had a bunch it would be time to worry. If you feel the urge you can pass it on to CS and they will note in on the file....in case there is an issue down the road. It's similar to work....Only they know what's in your personel file. Insert twilight zone music here!!

Hi Lotz, not sure why I would speak about it to EBay CS, I'm sure they dont care about how tired I was? I think I have only had to call eBay once or twice in the 17 years I have been selling here. Kicking myself now for not putting my stores on vacation or extending my handling time but thought I didn't need to bother since it was only for two days. Next time....
