I used to enjoy listing items for sale on eBay. After a number of years, I found more treasures that I thought was time to give others a chance to enjoy so I went back to eBay.
Now I am finding it a tedious & frustrating experience to try to list an item. After way too much time spent navigating through items and check boxes that either didn’t apply or that I didn’t want to use, and getting past AI, I finally got my item described to the form’s (and my) satisfaction. I will say that inserting pictures is much easier now.
Then I hit the shipping nightmare!
I live in Canada and want to be able to ship to anywhere there is a potential buyer for my items. I am capable of printing off my own shipping label. I am also capable of finding a shipping cost to provide to an interested party. I could not figure out how to get eBay to let me do that. After much aggravation, I finally succumbed and checked off boxes, filled in weight & measurements and selected shipping services from the drop-down menus; one for Canada, one for USA and one for Worldwide.
When the PREVIEW accepted my listing withou conplaint, I pushed the LIST IT button and got no error message. Great! Success at last.
So, I go check my listing…….it says that I won’t ship to the US.
I revise my listing, making sure the USA box is checked. Then I go back in to doublecheck……it still says that I won’t ship to the US.
I revise my listing a second time, with the same result
Now at a complete loss I finally delete my listing, thankfully before it went live.
If anyone knows how I can get eBay to let me indicate in my listing that I ship worldwide and let me select my own shipping service and obtain a shipping costs withou using their Selected Services,…..PLEASE HELP!
eBay HELP has been no help.

What size did you have for the package (weight, dimensions)
What shipping service did you have selected for the United States?
eBay has big discount available for Tracked Packet USA (max weight of 2kg) when you buy through ebay.

There are usually 1 or 2 item specifics that are 'required' that you must fill out even if you have to type in does not apply. The specifics that are marked as suggested do not have to be filled in. I always fill in the ones that make sense then ignore the rest.
As the previous poster mentioned,if you can give us the weight, dimensions and service you chose for the US we can help you troubleshoot. The calculator does not warn you when the dimensions entered don't meet max or minimum dimensions for that service.

Have you signed up for Manged Payments so that you can get paid?

My package weighs 1 lb 3 oz. and it measures 9.25 inches long X 6 inches wide X 5.25 inches high.
I had selected Canada Post Expedited Parcel - USA as the shipping method.
If there is a better option, please let me know if I can change shipping methods and if so, how and when can
I do that.
Thanks

You may want to consider creating your listings using metric for your parcel measurements. Much more accurate and how things have done in Canada for decades. (Since April 1975). Remember when inputting your measurements to round up. Most important. Canada post will if you didn't causing extra charges that cannot be recovered. You can also turn on discounted rates to show buyers a more accurate reasonable shipping options. You can add a small handling charge at your discretion. Helps makes shipping costs to your buyers appear more acceptable. Link attached to turn the discount on attached.

As a side if your parcel measurements do not meet Canada post minimums when you enter them in the listing details, eBay will hide shipping options from your buyers. When an item sells you can modify and system will accept revised measurements. It's a glitch built into ebay. If you try to use tracked to the USA and your parcel is over 2.0 KG the system will block correctly. (Gives you an error message that service is not applicable based on size.) Next acceptable option would be Expedited.

That may be part of your problem
Canada Post went metric in 1974 and any other measurement is guesswork and likely to go wrong,
Since rates can change by a gram or a cm, get a metric measuring tape and a digital scale. Canadian Tire can supply both for under $25.
This Starfrit scale weighs up to 5 kilos and cost under $20. In ten years I have replaced the battery once.

Your listing does show a shipping cost for the US now so it is working.
You can't change it now as you have a bid but just so you know for the future, you can also use Tracked Packet USA for up to 2kg parcels. It can be less expensive.
