Buying items sold from sellers using Global Shipping.

Hello everyone.  Recently I made two purchases from eBay, both in one night.  It was late and so once the purchases were made I shut off my  computer.  It wasn't  until the next day that I realized that the purchases were made from the same seller and this seller used Global Shipping.  I immediately realized that  because of Global Shipping I wouldn't be able to have shipping combined.  What a system to have in place for us Canadian shoppers when we can't have items from the same seller combined for shipping.  The items in question were two 3" presidential medals that were probably shipped for under ten dollars.  I ended up paying $26.55 ($34.60 Can.), shipping.  The medals arrived yesterday in a single package with paperwork showing the transactions.  One medal shows I paid $13.54 U.S. shipping and no shipping on  the other when I actually paid shipping on both.   When I purchased these medals it showed that I paid no import fees, just regular shipping.  Could that be because it was a buy it now on both listings?  I contacted the seller to see if wouldn't mind softening the blow of the rather high shipping and he tells me I should contact Global Shipping.  As stated before my purchase invoices show I did not pay import fees but just the shipping that the seller had on the listing.  Would the shipping shown be dictated by Global Shipping or is the seller responsible for that quote?  Global Shipping!  Don't you just love it!!  Thanks and have a great week end!

Remember most of the 'shipping' is never seen by the seller.

He may not even have known what you were charged by the GSP.

At best, he could offer to refund you the difference between the actual cost of shipping to Erlanger KY and what he charged.

So if he charged (eg) $2 each for that shipping, and it actually cost him $3, he could reasonably offer to refund a buck.

You could also decide to do a little educating of the seller. He can ship small and inexpensive (under $100 CDN, $120USD) items to Canada by USPS First Class International Parcel which includes Confirmation of Delivery, the selling point of the GSP to nervous US merchants.
