In good faith I mailed a package to Australia. Received a nasty reply saying she was dissatisfied with product. I have sent several requests for payment also e-mails. All have been ignored.
Do I have any recourse?

You mailed before payment? Oh my, to quote George Takei.
Just hope she doesn't leave feedback. Not only would even a neutral FB look horrible with such a short selling record, but also the Detailed Seller Ratings she leaves could put you out of business.
In future:
Until you know the ins and outs of selling by mail, don't ship overseas.
Never ship Surface overseas.
Never ship until you are paid. (This is tricky, but basically, use PP labels and if PP won't let you ship, don't.)
Come here with questions .

By the way, if you are selling wool, keep this account and its feedback as you selling account and set up another for buying. It's no business of your customers where you are getting your product.

As you now know, it is NEVER a good idea to send the item before payment has been received. Add the non payer to your blocked bidders list and start the unpaid item process.
In the future, do not send any payment reminders. The buyer gets an email indicating they won (first reminder). Then they get an invoice from the seller (second reminder). If they have not paid by the 4th day after end of sale, you as the seller should start the unpaid item process (third reminder to pay). Four days after filing the dispute, close it if payment still has not been received.
The buyer get 3 reminders to pay so there is no need for any additional reminders from you to pay. Also, whenever you have a non payer, add that person to your blocked bidders list. If you have not done so already, set your buyer requirements in My Ebay, Account, Site Preferences to block bidders with 2 or more unpaid item strikes in the past 12 months.
