I've cancelled this label twice already.
I want to ship by expedited with extra insurance and signature confirmation because it's a $500 item
The option is there for the ticking, but when I get the information from paypal it states "No signature confirmation."
I can also see that even though I've ticked the box I haven't been charged for it.
When I tick the ? is says:
"""" Signature Confirmation
With this option, Canada Post obtains an image of the recipient’s signature (or his/her representative) upon delivery. This is available at an extra charge when using Xpresspost, Expedited Parcel, or Regular Parcel service.""""
So why does it keep printing out that there is no signature confirmation even though I've ticked the box and it states it's available?
I don't want to cancel the label again but I'm thinking I might have to upgrade to Express ............ but then why does the info say it's available with Expedited and Regular parcel?

Is that a Canadian vs US thing going on?

I would call PayPal. There is obviously a glitch going on here. At the PO, they always try to sell you the signature option.

Where are you shipping to?
Expedited Parcel Canada has signature available. Expedited Parcel USA does not.
If to the USA, to have PayPal Seller Protection for an item over $250, you need to use Xpresspost since it has signature confirmation.

In the past signature confirmation with expedited to the US was not an option, and when I saw the box there to tick I thought they'd changed that along with the other recent changes.
Now I'm thinking that the mistake is that the box is there making it look it's available as a new choice but it's not really.

Ya....... to me the biggest problem with the CPO changes is that now I have to think about what I'm doing again.
Shipping had become sort of mindless and I knew exactly which options I'd use for which item.
Now, everything has sort of shifted.
For example, it no longer makes sense to use small packet instead of light packet for borderline items.
Now, light packet with TPI is often the better choice.
Oh well......... it's only an issue for a while.
This signature confirmation thing........... can never quite decide if it's a good choice or not. It can really backfire.

You are shipping to the U.S.?
Where do you see this info? Since it mentions regular parcel and there is no regular parcel to the U.S., you must be looking at info for delivery within Canada.
Now I'm thinking that the mistake is that the box is there making it look it's available as a new choice but it's not really
Just out of curiosity, where do you see this box?

How can it backfire?

PJ........ it's all there on the paypal website exactly as I described in the original post.
Signature confirmation can backfire in a number of ways.

But you mention regular parcel in the original post so it sounds like you are getting information from a couple of places and some info about shipping to the U.S. and some info about shipping to Canada. Just trying to help but I'm still not sure where you are shipping to.
If it is to the U.S. it is odd that you see boxes to check off for expedited and I don't see them, but perhaps your browser is different so paypal reacts differently.
Signature confirmation can backfire in a number of ways.
I'm sorry but I have never realized that it could. I do need to use it every once in a while..though not often...so I'm curious as to how it could backfire for a seller.

PJ..... The paypal website situation doesn't warrant all this analysis.
It was probably a momentary glitch showing on my screen.
Since the CPO has made a number of changes recently I didn't recognize if as such right away.

Signature Confirmation : To Buy or Not to Buy??
There are risks with it as well.
A buyer has to get the item in hand to sign or it gets returned to the sender and not everyone is able to sign.
I've had issues with that in both directions.
BUT......... all in all I regret not buying it for this shipment. I didn't want to cancel the label again and wasn't thinking clearly.
Over $325 and there is no seller protection.
I did buy CPO insurance for it and then realized after I'd dropped it off that I'm not sure what that really means.
If the PO shows it delivered then apparently they won't make good on the insurance.
So what tis the insurance for? Damage?
I kinda panicked and called shipsurance and described the situation to them.
Then I bought their insurance too because they told me they would cover me in that situation.
I know........... waste of $$$$$ not once but twice.
So............ looks like I double insured again................... Shoot Me Now!
