I have had this problem.

If you open a case in time you will probably have your money returned when you send the parcel back  with a transit number and insurance to protect yourself- BUT a major problem is you will have to pay the return postage and insurance - EVEN IF THE PACKAGING IS HIS FAULT. The vendor would have to claim on his outgoing insurance but you would not support his claim if the packing was his fault.

If the damage was not visible in the pics the same applies basically.

That is the general HIGHLY UNSATISFACTORY way it works if the vendor is UNCOOPERATIVE. You may decide to give BAD FEEDBACK but you would still be out your postage AND your insurance. Could be in the 100's of dollars.

I hope eBay can work out a way around this problem.

Open an Item Not As Described Dispute.

IF you purchased from a US seller who used the Global Shipping Program, you will probably be refunded and asked to trash the damaged item, since PitneyBowes who run the program don't want it either.

If you purchased outside the GSP, you may be asked to return the item with tracking. Once you can show that the seller has the item back, Paypal will refund your original payment, but not the return postage.

Some sellers will refund themselves, to avoid the 'Defect' on their selling account. They may ask for the return or they may accept a photo of the parcel and/or the item.
