I am being sent e-mails for an unpaid item that was cancelled by the seller. I paid through Paypal with an e-cheque but the seller does not accept them and cancelled the sale. I have a perfect feedback rate and do not want to lose that. What do I do now.

Hi ..Don't worry about the emails unless an unpaid dispute is filed in your myebay resolution center. If that happens respond with your PP payment email and ebay will close.

Sellers must accept echeques. I would send the following to make this seller aware.. PP user agreement..
4.2 Use of PayPal on eBay. Sellers who offer PayPal as a payment method in their eBay listings must follow these requirements:
Accept PayPal if the eBay listing includes PayPal as a payment method.
Accept all PayPal Payment Methods from a buyer, including but not limited to eCheck and credit cards.
Accept international PayPal transactions if the eBay listing offers shipping outside the US.
Sellers may not charge a surcharge for accepting PayPal as a payment method.
Seller can refuse to ship but they cannot cancel a transaction without your agreement. Ebay would ask you to agree and i would not.
Did the seller refund your echeque. Can always file an item not received to recover payment.
If seller has refunded and you feel further communication will not be helpful ..can call customer support to report the violation and leave appropriate feedback with low DSRs. 1 is the lowest and eBay will be on seller's case. Feedback should be calm/factual ie Seller refused to accept PayPal echeque as required by eBay.

PS ..Your feedback is safe. Sellers can only leave positive.

While e-cheques can take up to 10 days to clear and are therefore quite annoying to sellers- as explained we can't refuse them.
For the buyer, however, there is a good reason to back your PP payments with a credit card.
If your purchase goes pearshaped and for some reason PP will not help (no proof of return, past 45 day deadline etc) you can turn to the credit card for a chargeback.
Bet your cheque-refusing seller doesn't know about that ]:)
Once you have your money back, you can leave appropriate polite factual calm feedback and Detailed Seller Ratings.
Silly silly seller.
