Did anyone else get this when signing into paypal? It is not from an email link.
"PayPal requires a copy of certain documents for verification purposes to return your account to regular standing.
Please submit each of the following documents:
Valid photo ID
Driver's License
Health Card (Must have Photo)
Please make sure that the documentation you provide is up-to-date and legible. The name and address on your documentation must correspond with the information registered on your PayPal account. Your documentation cannot be older than 6 months. Send only documents received by mail (online statements cannot be accepted). Send all the information and documents required as soon as possible to complete the review process."
They also want a copy of a utility bill for address verification.

My credit card info is good until next year.
It is a real paypal thing. They will not give a reason except to say it is to make it a safe place to do business.
I submitted the images through their resolution center. Until resolved I can receive money, print packing slips etc but can't send money, withdraw money or give refunds. I see people saying it was resolved after several hours and not resolved after months.
If they are going to impose things like this it should not involve funds already there before they imposed it. I am not happy with their customer treatment.

It does sound fishy but maybe that's just a red herring. I cod hardly believe a plaice like PayPal would skate over a tuna customer concerns and snapper at people like that. No wonder a grouper people have haddock up to here and are getting crabby. Not to carp on about it but salmon from PayPal should come along withtrout delay and get the dory straight. Eel need to mackeral sole changes because this is total pollocks and no conger acceptable. Maybe if they stop being koi and mullet over, they will hake responsibility for a tench situation that barracuda seemed a lot worse. Its a blowfish to their image but PayPal won't flounder and it gives people a ray of hope. ....... Now I'm kippered and need more coffee. 🙂
And people wish I'd clam up and stop musseling my way into threads. . .

Not necessarily a scam. It happened to me 10 years ago. For an unknown reason, my PayPal Debit Card was blocked after I used an ATM machine to withdraw cash. I called PayPal and they asked me to fax my ID with a picture. Occasionally, it might happen.

Yes I talked with someone at paypal. I had to send in the scans...now it says in progress.
I am not a happy customer but I can't buy anything, withdraw, refund or close the account until the matter is settled. But they will still receive payments for me...lol.

My account has been restored.
"Our review is complete and we have restored your account.
We appreciate your patience and thank you for your help in making PayPal the safest and most trusted online payment solution.
Thanks,
PayPal"
Everything works again...but I still think this is lousy customer service.

At least it didn't take long. Maybe you would consider sharing your experience on those message links further up the thread because some people say it has been a month or more for them and they are still waiting. I don't blame them for being furious.

Given the smaller market PayPal Canada serves, it may explain the faster turnaround time than that experienced by those on the message boards who are likely posting from the United States.
