Shipping Suggestions for Selling to the US

Hello :

Long time EBay buyer, but want to get into some selling off unused items I have collected over time. Never sold before on Ebay and have been doing some research. Can anyone offer me some tips in shipping to the U.S.

When I use the selling tools any preferred shipping methods I should use?.

From what I have read I need to ensure the shipping method offers a tracking and delivery confirmation for my protection against unscrupulous buyers?

I would prefer Canada Post vs UPS, but maybe that's not the best choice?.

I suppose I should use the "actual shipping charges" option  as it appears from random zip code checks the price can vary considerably.

Appreciate any comments/suggestions.

Maybe, maybe not.

It depends on the products you sell and their value.

In reality that "protection" often does cost a lot of money.  And sellers expect buyers to pay for that protection!

Will a buyer willingly pay $10 extra shipping charge to protect you for a $10 purchase?

Is protection really necessary?
