I ordered an item from a seller back in January, paid for it same day I bought it. The seller received my payment on Jan 24, 2014. My delivery estimate is Feb 11, 2014 - Feb 24, 2014. As you can see this has come and gone and still no package. It was coming from China. So i get the fact that they had Chinese New Year and so on. The same day I also ordered other stuff from China through eBay, which I received all those items without issue. I contacted the seller on Feb, 25, 2014 who asked me to be patient for a few more days, I was. I contacted again March 4th and was told that the seller would resend new items. I asked if they could send it with tracking this time, I was told not unless I wanted to pay more in shipping (they offered free shipping originally).
Now here is my problem. Do I put this through the Resolution Centre as eBay says I have till March 9th , 2014 to get eBay's Help and document the issue or do I let it go and hope that this new shipment will actually make it to me? I have never had this happen before (knock on wood). A little unsure what I should do at this point. The seller is being very helpful in resenting the item, as was stated in the reply email I received from seller. I just don't know if I should trust that it was sent since I made the mistake letting the seller know I only had till March 9th, 2014 to put in a complaint with the Resolution Centre.
What am asking is do I trust the seller or get Ebay involved anyways ?

The seller is being very helpful in resenting the item....
Many Chinese sellers have been known to be very helpful in sending a new item however there also seems to be many cases where that second item is not received either. As Toby said, file a claim.

No the seller told you he has sent a replacement.
But he told you he sent the original purchase too, and you didn't get that, did you?
File the Item Not Recieved claim.
If the seller cannot show Proof of Delivery you will be refunded in full.
If the item does by some odd happenstance turn up after the refund, you can repay the seller by using Paypal's "Send Money" service. But it won't.
