Someone in Russia has won my item. I don't ship there. If I relist do I get my seller fees back ??

Someone in Russia has won one of my items. I don't ship there. How do the fees from Ebay work now? Do I simply relist? Will I pay seller fees twice???

You didn't set your buyer requirements. Has she paid? If she has, you're risking negative feedback and DSRs. The fees work out like this:

1. Buyer paid or eventually pays (if you file an Unpaid Item dispute/UID)

  • Refund > Cancellation request - Buyer accepts - your final value fees (FVF) will be returned and feedback can't be left
  • Refund > Cancellation request - Buyer declines - you're out of your FVF and she can still leave you feedback

2. Buyer didn't pay at all

  • You can file a UID and once it closes, you'll get your FVF. The buyer can't leave feedback.

You will pay fees twice if your buyer doesn't agree to cancel or pays for the transaction -- you didn't set your blocks. I don't think your buyer can pay you though since you didn't specify shipping charges to Russia. You'd need to send an invoice for shipping charges so that she can pay -- but don't do this if you're not willing to ship there.

To set your buyer requirements:

To block buyers whose primary shipping address is in a country you don't ship to:

  1. Go to My eBay.

  2. Click the Account tab, and then click Site Preferences link on the left.

  3. In the Selling Preferences section, scroll to Shipping preferences, and then click the Show link.

  4. Click Exclude shipping locations from your listings.

  5. Select one or more continents to exclude all countries on those continents. Or select Show all countries and check the specific countries you don't want to ship to.

  6. All excluded countries you selected will appear on the lower section of the page.

  7. You can select to apply these exclusions to all current live listings on a global level.

  8. Click the Apply button to save your requirements.
