I have 14 parcels lost in last 45 days, all of them Commercial Expedited USA. Does anybody has the same problem with this type of service?

No. Maybe your problem is at the local level?

This is not about sending parcels back, but parcels dissapear in USA.... Those lost packages take so much time and energy to deal with unhappy customers, paypal chargebacks and insurance claims.

Tracking is always shows that item was dispatched from Canada and after that nothing... I wonder too if that was stolen here or other side of the border.

Had that problem before and I stopped using Commercial Expedited to the US. It is cr***p.

CP has a huge problem because USPS workers do not care about stuff that is not USPS. They don't bother scanning the items because they assume it's useless. Your package is often delivered (may take a while because it's Ground service) but remains unaccounted for even after delivery.

This is the reason why CP has added the USPS Priority logo on Xpresspost USA packages. They see the logo, they scan the item.

Expedited does not work and I wouldn't be suprised to see the service terminated or undergoing changes.

My recommendation is: Spend the extra $6 to $10 and upgrade to Xpresspost USA. The most I have ever spent on an Xpresspost USA package is around $22 to Alaska! My packages are around 1-2 lbs.

It's reliable and fast enough. Tracked so you will save the hassle and make your customers happy.

Cheers!

If you are going to spend the money to send your packages Xpresspost, you might as well open a UPS account. After a volume discount you'll be saving a ton of cash on U.S. shipments. I only use Canada Post for shipments withing Canada, outside Ontario.

i have a friend who works for post office, as he explained to me that it is not canada post but customs at US border, some packages take up to 45 days before they clear if not having proper documentation of contents, i lost 3 items so far, so not as bad as u, explain the the buyer that customs maybe holding, i have had a few resend money after package arrives around the 50 day mark, making his statement correct in those issues. but can u count on the buyer to pay if he does recieve it down the road. of course not, if they choose to file a claim, explain to paypal this information. as for rest of my packages its standard mail sent to quebec that i am having a problem with not showing up. hope this helps

Wow~ that's weird. I have shipped like 2500 boxes to the US, and nothing has ever gotten lost. Guess maybe customs is holding up your shipments. Maybe you should look at how you are packing things? Do your boxes look all messy or something? Are you using recycled boxes and not wrapping them in Kraft paper? Strange.

Oh~ one more thing (for funkywatch)~ I always ship Expedited and have found the service to be excellent. My stuff is very fragile, and nothing ever breaks. And it is pretty fast (as fast as air, quite often). Maybe three times things have gotten hung up at customs for a few days, but other than that, no problems.

I believe you can order the green customs slips (free) from the OBC at canadapost.ca

Shouldn't even need a customs form, in fact you might be better off without one.

I don't sell sport's card...cd's, always sent in bubble envelopes, NEVER with a customs form.....very rare to have a problem (like 1 lost out of thousands to the USA) and 99% delivered within 5 - 10 days.

I wouldn't put customs forms on sports cards either... You would save yourself a lot of work and grief. It would also be faster for your customers...

I have had Postal employees insist that they need a customs sticker (sports cards as well). Another reason I go to Shoppers Drug Mart.

Custom information for commercial expedited parcels get filled electronically + hard copy with every package, so I doubt customs is an issue here.

What I was told, that a tracking subcontractor went bankrupt in US, therefore many parcels get lost...

Xpost and UPS grouns is the same price. UPS comes with better tracking, while Xpost is generally faster.

I was told by our CanadaPOST rep that EXPEDITED USA PARCEL DELIVERY is subcontracted to United States Postal Service who deliver the packages and is a BARCODED service that is trackable online along with delivery confirmation.

We are currenly using this service and so far no problems.

(Keeping fingers crossed)
