Why do some bid histories show up as "private listing and bidder protected" and others show a***l

Some sellers have" private listing and buyers is protected" as in bid histories.  Others show a**l  assigned to a bidder.  It is nice to see bidder histories to each person.   It also lets you know how many people are bidding.
