Re: do you have to pay import fees on free shiping from c...

No, it means the cost of shipping is included in the price of the item.

Most, though not all, Asian sellers who use Free Shipping keep their shipping costs down by using Surface Shipping. This means that your parcel could take up to three months to arrive.

EBay and Paypal have very good Buyer Protection policies, but most transactions have a Dispute deadline (for non-arrival or 'not as described') of 45 days from purchase. This is firm.

Feedback is very important. Does your seller have feedback of 99-100% positive. Lower is poor. Below 95% is horrible.

Read the feedback. You can read the negative feedback only if you click on the number. Is there a pattern? (Did not arrive, poor quality, counterfeit).

Does the deal still sound good?

Most Chinese sellers are honest, like sellers and buyers everywhere, but be careful. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Import fees are made up of Canadian duty, Canadian sales taxes and the service fees of the carrier. The seller does not pay these.

Import duties are required on imports of $20CDN (about $18USD) or more.

With the exception of countries with which Canada has a Free Trade Agreement, there may be duty on your purchase. China does not have a Free Trade Agreement with Canada.

More likely there will be Canadian sales taxes.

Canada Post charges a service fee of $9.95 for processing the imported parcel.
