eBay invited a subset of sellers to participate in an exclusive free-listing promotion in certain categories. Last week, eBay announced it would undertake a major fee restructuring this year and would make more free listings available to all sellers on a permanent basis.
In the meantime, sellers who received an invitation to participate in the latest promotion can list up to 25,000 fixed price listings and pay no listing fees. The promotion is split into two time periods and includes only certain categories.

I had just closed my store so I guess thats why I got my first ever fixed price promo invite. It was a bust so far. I relisted in one category. All my sales since have been for items in another category, items that were already listed. I thought I would give it a try even though the only other promo (for auction listings) that I have ever had an invite to was also a bust. So much for that! I will stick to my plan of just free auctions each month unless the sales pick up. Of course it is spring break time and sales are usually slow anyway. At least I am only out my time. My fees last month were 4 times what I pay elsewhere for the amount of sales $. Crazy.

Well isn't that nice of ebay! I just saw a copy of the actual invitation over on the clothing & accessories board on .com.
The invitation is ONLY for .com, ebay.ca is not even mentioned in the invitation!
I wonder if anyone on .ca received an invite? I know I didn't!
Sure hope we get one too!

"ebay.ca is not even mentioned in the invitation"
Overheard in the hallways at eBay Inc Head Office in San Jose, California:
".ca" what is that? California? Do we have a site now for Californian? Can't be, we would know about it.
Maybe ".ca" means China? No, China is .cn.
How about Colombia? Costa Rica? Czechoslovakia?
Help me here, what does ".ca" mean? Anyone?

Does this surprise you? My daughter was on a sojourn at Berkeley and upon being asked where she from, she replied "Toronto".
"Oh. Is that in Europe?"
"No. It is in Ontario, in Canada, which is next door tot he U.S. and also part of the North American Continent. I guess you're not a student here eh?"
