if im bidding on an item of a seller who has multiple items for sale, but when i check these other items i seem to be constantly outbid by the same bidder, hmmm sounds a bit odd to me. The item im bidding on has only one other bidder and its the same one on the other items. Anyone have any ideas.

So another bidder is bidding on the same items that you are bidding on?

You are bidding on more than one item from this seller?

What is the problem?

Great minds.....etc.

The 'constantly outbid" is pretty normal. The other bidder Bid Once, Bid Early, Bid His Maximum, and the automatic /proxy bidding system is bidding for him.

For example.

I see an item with an opening bid of $10. I want it and know it is underpriced. So I bid $100 allowing $5 for his shipping fee. I know that if I pay $105 total I still have a good deal since these doohickeys normally go for $300.

The item opens at $10 to me.

You come along and bid $11. The item stays with me for $12. You bid $15. The bid is still with me at $16. You bid $25. The bid is with me at $26.

And so on unless you realize that you have to pay what the market demands. You bid $125. The bid is now with you at $101.

I don't bid, because I already have my maximum bid in and have not looked at the listing for five days.

So you win at $101.

Unless.

Fred Greedy jumps in at the last second with a snipe bid of $175.03, winning with a "snipe" bid of $102.03.

You and I curse his name and run a new Search for a similar item, starting our battle of bids again.
