I want to leave neutral or negative feedback without it getting removed by Ebay

Hello everyone. I recenelty accidentally purchased an item in the middle of the night last night and shortly after sent a cancellation request so that I could go back and purchase the item in the quantity that I wanted to and the seller shortly after denied the cancellation request and purchased a shipping label. Prior to this happening I had sent a message to the seller about combining shipping for a quantity of X2 of the items so im not paying $15 for shipping from a seller who lives maybe 45 minutes to an hour away from me. Nobody wants to pay $30 shipping for a medium sized package from a seller who doesnt even live that far away. So I wait a handful of days and he doesnt answer at all. He sends out a discount and I accidentally buy it thinking I have quantity of 2 and its only 1. I dont want to pay double shipping. Shortly after the mistaken purpose I sent the cancellation request.

As a seller I find this to be in very poor taste and a bad business practice from many angles and I think there should be constructive but firm consequences in the terms of honest but negative or neutral feedback after I recieve the item. He also doesnt offer returns. No returns, no cancellations, and no reply to messages.

As a seller I also know that it sucks to have to cancel a sale after a purchase has been made but at the end of the day im not going to force another person to buy something that they no longer want to purchase especially if I havent packed/ shipped it yet. Its a snake like practice and doesnt lead to return customers or build good faith in my business practices.

Normally I dont leave bad feedback but from time to time a bad apple shows up and I feel this is one of those. I dont want to leave the feedback and then he slithers to ebay to get it removed, especially if everything factually represents the circumstances here.

Do I have a case to leave the feedback without him being able to slither to ebay to get it removed and if so how would you word it?

Let me know

thanks

-Ryan

Re: I want to leave neutral or negative feedback without it getting removed by Ebay

It's becoming more common that eBay does not allow negative, or even neutral feedback reviews, unless the circumstances are weighin hevily against the other party (in this case, the seller).

Based on what you mentioned, I think it would be hard to leave negative feedback. No fault from the seller for not allowing you to cancel, because it was you who pruchased the item without being clear about the conditions. Bad business practice? Yes, but nothing wrong from their part.

Maybe a neutral review would be accepted, but that also depends of how the shipping of the order goes, and the conditions of the items you end up receiving...Remember that, if the description does not match or there are any other flagrant violations of eBay's selling policies, you can ask for a refund. And, in such cases, a negative review would be justifiable.

Do you think a neutral review that mentions their inability to respond to messages would suffice? I mean it’s technically true and did impact the quality of my experience as a customer and would deter me from ever returning.

I don’t see why eBay would remove such a comment seeing as its factual and neutral, even tho I’d like to make it negative and mention the bad business practice they’re engaging in.

Re: I want to leave neutral or negative feedback without it getting removed by Ebay

In the middle of the night you purchase an item.

You paid.

You decided you wanted more of these and asked the seller to cancel the purchase.

The seller refused.*

The seller purchased a shipping label.

So far the seller is within their rights.

As mentioned, poor business practice , possible miscommunication, but within their rights.

The seller, days later, sends a discount offer.

You purchase again.

You pay.

You ask for a cancellation again.

First the cost of shipping does not depend on the value of the shipment. It depends on weight, dimensions, level of service, and destination.

Packing two purchases into one box may ,or may not, push the parcel to a higher rate . The changes are based on centimetres and grams.

Has the first purchase been recieved?

Does tracking show that it has been shipped?

Has the second purchase been received?
Does tracking show that it has been shipped?

When it does arrive you can make a Claim, although any reason you choose will be specious.

As a seller yourself you should know that a No Returns policy is less important than eBay's Money Back Guarantee.

* It is possible that the seller did not see the cancellation request until after the label was purchased.

Re: I want to leave neutral or negative feedback without it getting removed by Ebay

Hi, you misunderstand what happened.

Order of events:

`1. I inquire about a purchase. I want to buy X2 quantity of the same item but want combined shipping. He never responds.

2. After 3 days or so he sends out a discount so I buy it thinking I have 2 in my cart when it is only 1. I want to cancel so I can buy 2 without paying double shipping. This occurred at like 9PM yesterday.

3. I send a cancellation request which he quickly denies and buys a shipping label to avoid cancelling the purchase (still hasnt actually shipped it btw!).

4. Now I want to leave an honest review about my poor experience with this seller so other buyers can avoid these bad business practices.

I am not buying it that the seller didnt see the cancellation request because it was late at night and he bought the label shortly after denying my cancellation request. It 100% was a tactic to not lose a sale.

Does all of this make sense?

so I buy it thinking I have 2 in my cart when it is only 1.

You got confused.

You didn't notice that you were paying for one item.

You paid.

You asked for a cancellation.

The seller had already printed a shipping label and refused the cancellation.

You don't say if the item has shipped.

"Now I want to leave an honest review about my poor experience with this seller so other buyers can avoid these bad business practices."

Your feedback must be "an honest review" pertaining to the item/the transaction/the experience BUT cannot be used explicitly as a "warning to others".... The review is about YOUR experience and nothing more...
