Ebay takes a huge cut of even cancelled transactions. Exchange rates alone they are making Ebay a killing. I am being straight up fleeced by USD, because on top of CAD losing 10% of its value vs USD in the past 2 years alone, Ebay skims like another 2 or 3% off that. I am literally paying 50% more than US buyers.
That said, Ebay should have some serious cash. So why then are they like the last remaining large Desktop website without a DARK MODE?! Any website that people will be spending hours and days staring at, should have a Dark Mode in 2024. It is almost 2025, and Ebay is being shown up by companies orders of magnitude smaller.
P.S. If you are going to put someone's face on the big ad-banner at the home-page, try and make them less aggressively ugly.
Thanks, a humble business scrub.

If you are so unhappy with eBay, why are you still here?
Perhaps you need to set up your own website where you have the power and the control to do what you want, see what you want and have your DARK MODE that seems to be so important to you...
eBay gives us this platform to use and if we don't like what is available we can go elsewhere..
eBay is what it is and not always what we want it to be, but we do have choices...
C'est la vie!
Que sera, sera!

What is even the purpose of your response? A swift and decisive defense of your favbourite corporation that doesn't really care about you at all?
I am advocating for Ebay use its profits to invest into the user-experience, as well as becoming a more competative trading platform into the future.
What are you advocating for? less innovation on all fronts? A worse user-experience?
As it stands, smaller companies CAN and do surpass the Ebay experience, when that does not need to be the case, with the proper allocation of resources...

I am advocating that you use the resources as presented to you on this platform...and be satisfied with what is offered to you for the amount of fees we already pay, as sellers who think asking for more, more, more and feel entitled to more, more, more will find themselves paying more, more, more in fees.
So if you want all these bells and whistles apply your time and effort towards your own site or find a site that that works better for you than eBay. Sorry to say but eBay will use its profits in ways best suited to eBay, so until such time as you own eBay you have no say in how those profits are used....
Sorry that I can not please you with a response that will put me into agreement with spending more in fees for something that is cosmetic and not required as a working function considering we already have a multitude of needed fixes on this site...but as I said you have choices that may make your selling experience more pleasurable.
Have a lovely evening!

Is 'dark mode' that annoying and hard to read thing that happens to my FaceBook page at dusk every night?
I hate that.
Black on white is easier to read.
That's why you don't see blackboards in classrooms. They were replaced by greenboards, as easier on the eyes, and more recently by white boards.
At least with eBay I have a consistent experience and don't have to worry about unreadable colour on black, or invisible bolding.
Dark Mode is soooo 90s.

The jury is still out on that regard, but for some people, dark mode helps reduce eye strain and fatigue.
I have an eye injury, so my right eye is more sensitive to light. And dark mode certainly helps me in reducing disconfort and dryness.

I've been on Ebay since 1999 and Ebay has still not done this.

I want ebay in Dark mode without using an extension. Do it now.
