I know the message is a fake, since it was not sent from the actual buyer. But we as sellers have no way of reporting these messages to eBay to have them dealt with.
I wonder how many new sellers get caught by this scam!!
I'm sure that some sellers do get caught up by the scam. I do wish that there was an easy way to report this even if it was just so that eBay could see how often it happens. It is likely though that the scammer is only planning on using that ID for a very short time and if eBay shut down the ID they would start another one right away. I doubt that they are using their actual name etc.
