Hi,

I posed this question first back on June 2, and there has still been no resolution.

*I am selling on .com in US$, payouts in CA$. I use .com to print USPS shipping labels for US orders. I still have no option to use my payouts for paying for these shipping labels, only Paypal.

*This needs to be remedied. It seems crazy that the Ebay buyers payment is collected by Ebay, then is deposited in my bank account, then I pay for the labels with my credit card through Paypal to pay for a shipping label back on Ebay. To follow the money trail: my funds Ebay, my bank account, my credit card, my Paypal, and back to Ebay for the label....?

*Currency should not make a difference as Ebay converts the currency already from US to CA; refunds to buyers get converted from my CA to US. Ebay should be able to convert payout funds from CA to US for USPS shipping labels(if that is even the issue).

I hope something can get done about this soon.

Andrew

Hi Tyler,

I am still waiting to get invited again, lost my last status when a rep. changed my registration from US to Canadian. I have had SO many problems since then, some people can't purchase, some can't pay. My money can't be sent to my bank, and when I click on the link on an email to update my bank info I get a   there seems to be a problem, try again later.

I must have phoned eBay over 20 times in the last few weeks, lots of promises that I would get the invite again in 2 days, or later this week, it still hasn't arrived. This is not my fault, I didn't ask a rep to change my registration, and now I am back to square one. So frustrating.

Hola Tyler,

Welcome back. All moved in and settled? Best moving joke that always stuck with me was a friend will help you move. A good friend will help you move a body. Hopefully no bodies were involved? ⚰️

Is the announcement from earlier in the year still in play/active?

Significant delays to Canada Post deliveries to th... - The eBay Canada Community

There was no disclaimer after the fact.

In checking transit times as of late eBay seems to be using stock transit times for many services. It will be the same window for me to ship Calgary to CA or VT. PR/HA/AK adds a day or 2 max . Actual transit times can vary greatly based on distance and even the day processed in Canada. Standard transit time for my shipments to get LAX is 4 -5 days minimum for ALL services. Customs adds to that time and is NOT noted on buyers page as a possibilty. (Extending handling time can scare buyers away so not an option.)

For Intl Small Packet Air transit time showing is slightly longer to the UK than it is to Scandanavia. The window to Germany is the closest to realistic. According to the international pages regarding VAT implementation shippers are advised to expect delays.

Letter options for international/USA mail are dream world at best.

These discrepancies are causing many sellers having buyers, at the drop of a hat filing INR's. With no way to enforce re-payment this is most frustrating from a sellers perspective.

Does eBay have plans to address these ETA's and is there any way for a seller/buyer to extend the delivery window when both parties are agreeable? (Vs cases closing automatically.)  And does eBay understand the black hole we routinely refer to as Chicago reported on both dot ca and dot com regularly?

Hi Tyler,

I hope your day is going well.

Currently I'm selling two items that are on eBay's Hot item list (PlayStation 5 and Xbox X video game consoles)  over the years I've dealt with many items that eBay puts on their hot item list.  I fully understand the policy and why it's in place.  In previous years eBay would start to remove the restrictions for some sellers that could meet certain requirements such as providing reciepts to show proof of purchase, having a registered business, CRA registered (I went through the process before with the Mini Nintendos)  This ussually occured when the item had been released for 6 months give or take, both of these items were released early November 2020 (around 9 months ago)

The reason I'm asking about this is because every time I recieve new stock and I want to add quantity or change the item price, update the photo do anything at all to the either listing I get the hot item block nothing can be updated on the listing.  What I have been doing and it's probably over 15 times now is hop on eBay chat explain to one rep the issue and most reps try to fix it but then realize they can't and transfer me to an account specialist, the selling limits department or trust and safety department who can as they say make a 'back end change'.  Generally it's a smooth process and is temporarily resolved within 10-20 minutes.  Last week I had one rep who didn't understand I'm on eBay.ca, claimed they resolved the issue  and told me they can't move me to another department or a supervisor etc.  That particular chat conversation was around one hour and it would of went on longer had I not took it upon myself to thank him for his time and move on.  I then rejoined the chat the next rep immediately tried to help me it took him alittle extra time (over 20 mins) but he was trying to help and when he realized he couldn't resolve it, I didn't even have to ask, he transfered me to one of the departsments that can fix it, took another 10 minutes but issue 'temporarily' resolved.

My question is in regards to this error Hot_Items_Velocity_Limit_generic1190490 which currently on my PS5 listing is blocking me from even adjusting my item price, the item again has been released around nine months ago and this can also be for other sellers as well that have a proven track record on eBay with selling 'hot items' especially the higher value items over a long period of time.  Is there still a department on eBay that I can contact to have the limits eased or removed like I have in previous years?  I can provide anything they need proof of purchase, business registration, CRA account, personal documents (information that has already been provided before and is all in my eBay account other than current proof of purchase reciepts) OR if eBay has a department that speaks with sellers tax representatives, I have a chartered accountant that is authorized to speak on my behalf.

Again there are other sellers who would qualify and have in previous years so this question is for them as well.

Thanks for reading this, if we can find a resolution that saves eBay time and money that would be great.

Thanks Tyler!

Enjoy your day,

Hello Tyler,

With the new "Print Packing Slips and More" tab is there no longer a way to print address labels only? Many sellers shipping using letter mail relied on that option and to save on ink.

In conjunction with this issue, the address format used in the "new" version is incorrect.  See below.

https://www.canadapost-postescanada.ca/cpc/en/support/articles/addressing-guidelines/canadian-addres...

Also, Canada should be spelled in full on a separate line, and the telephone number should be deleted.  Note, this is also incorrect on .com.

Simply returning to the old format would be the best alternative.

Thanks for your help.

RE the new shipping labels and more option:

I cant beleive eBay changed this, so frustrating, not only does the address format not match Canada Post guidelines, but I can no longer use this packing slip in the envelopes I use. I used to fold it in tri-fold to use in "windowed" envelopes, Now I can no longer do that. I suggest that if eBay keeps changing things, that they at least make the new formats customizable for sellers. As it stands I will now have to either cut paper or produce seperate lables mannually.

So Frustrating.... uggg

Hi Andrew -

I'm sorry you haven't seen this change implemented as quickly as you'd like. If you're receiving CAD payouts I don't believe you will see the option to use pending funds to purchase labels in the short or near future. Because the funds are converted to CAD and USPS will not accept a different currency.

I realize where you're coming from as your buyers pay in USD which is then converted. However, at this point in time I don't have any indication that this will change. This means that your best purchasing option for USPS labels (if using eBay.com's label platform) will remain your credit card or PayPal account.

I believe I've already gotten this suggestion submitted for future consideration, but I'll get it in once more just in case!

I'm so sorry @triber - I really wish I had something more constructive to give you other than 'thank you for your patience and keep trying', but I don't.

I'll make sure that folks higher up are aware of what's (still) going on with your account, but that doesn't change the course of action right now which is keep doing what you're doing.

Hi @mr.special-editions - this is a tricky one that I don't have a lot of expertise in. I asked around and what you're describing sounds like something I'd want you to work with CS directly on. The team I recommend is the social media team (Facebook or Twitter) - they have specialists who can work with limitations and blocks like this.

Hi @lotzofuniquegoodies - I don't believe an official 'retraction' of that announcement has been published. I asked the Shipping team about this and they had this response:

We continue to monitor the deliveries by carriers and make necessary adjustments to our estimates based on any delays they’re experiencing. As for Canada Post delays, their deliveries have been improved, and as such we have updated our estimates accordingly.

Our delivery estimates are determined based on historical delivery data (inclusive of the customs inspections). Each estimate is determined based on a specific carrier and service and the origin vs. the destination. For example, shipping with Small Packet (which we don’t recommend since it’s untracked) to US would have a different delivery estimate than to Germany. With that said, we’re always monitoring and optimizing our data. If you believe an estimate is inaccurate, feel free to provide us with detailed examples and we’ll look into them.

Thanks!

Hi I was wondering if you were able to get any info on the media mail problem?

Also when I don't sell an item I get an email with a link to relist the item, but if I click on the link, it takes me to a page of items I'm already selling. I can get around it of course, but it's a pain when the link should take me right to the page I need

Thanks

Hi @lotzofuniquegoodies - the shipping team said that there was a technical issue that was resolved with SellerHub recently that should have resolved this. Specifically they said, "They need to go on the Orders tab of SellerHub. Then select an item, then click the Shipping dropdown."

I'm not sure if that will be 'address only' slips (the screenshots they shared were just the pick list view) but if you're not seeing it any longer please let me know and I'll get it re-reported!

Hi @bunbar ! The Media Mail thing is something that is a technical issue that's being addressed. I've been told that they're planning on providing more information via email and updating categories this week. There will be some categories that do not have the Media Mail option returned in line with USPS guidance - but many will see it come back and be something you can select once again.
