Canada Post Expedited Lite Rate

Is there an issue with Canada Post rates through eBay Labels? I went to buy a label this morning and my expedited lite rate was higher that what Ebay has calculated and collected from the buyer, they collect $6.47 and charge me $8.20 to print the label

Yeah I think something is going on. All my Expedited Lite rates are for $10+. Normally they are $6-$8

I am seeing these estimates too that are not the normal discounts they used to be.

However, I am seeing the higher rate on the shipping cost when looking at a listing as well.

Perhaps they bought it before the glitch or change took place?

This was happening on labels to the EIS Hub a month ago, and I ended up being charged only the normal rate when the actual charge came through from Canada Post.

Just made an EIS sale minutes ago, and the buyer was charged the higher Expedited Lite rate being shown when ordering a label.

This really grinds me, I don't like having to pay extra for stuff I have no control on, something similar happenned a month ago with international shipping...if your system is unable to calculate shipping correctly then eBay should pay up the difference as part of the risk involved for breaking stuff that was working just fine, not the sellers.

It's not the first time it happen, last time was exactly as today...I sell something during weekend then comes Monday and prices have changed. This should NEVER EVER happen, as soon as I get the money, everything should be LOCKED and no prices should be allowed to change.

I feel like a 20-40% increase in label rates should be announced ahead of time instead of quietly implemented without any prior notice. A lot of us are running sales this time of year and are taking smaller profit margins to increase the number of sales.

An extra $2-$4 per order adds up fast... especially on lower priced items that only bring in $5-$10 of profit in the first place.

I have seen similar to this in the past.  I have gone to create a label and the price was the norm, then back in a little later and up, then back in and back down.

I checked a price very early sunday morning, comparing Expedited Light to Expedited Parcel, and the prices were normal.  What I see, still today is not the same.  I went to create said label and the Expedited Light is up approx. $4.00 and the Expedited Parcel is down approx. $4.00 from where they were early Sunday morning.

Not sure if the Expedited Parcel price changed in the past when this happened, but it most definately has this time.  And all Expedited Light prices for my current orders are up from where they usually are.

Maybe a certain company is trying to cash in a little extra with the surge of sales a the end of last week... Can't blame them I guess.

The reduction in discount rates for Expedited Lite labels appears to have taken effect Sunday.  

For an order received Sunday for delivery to rural NS an Expedited Lite label would have cost $13.11.  An Expedited Lite label for an order mailed Nov. 3 to another rural NS address would have been $6.57.

Two orders I mailed Friday (the 28th) showed Exedited Lite labels available for $6.07 (to BC) and $6.67 (to ON).  The same label purchased today would be $9.08 and $11.04 respectively.

Agree, a regular buyer (ON to AB) before was $7.92 for a label and now today its 10.54 - YIKES!

I was hoping that this was a glitch and it would be fixed by this morning, but rates are still showing $10-$11 per label.

Should we assume that this is the new cost of Expedited Lite? For any of us that use fixed shipping rates instead of calculated, we will need to make $3-$5 adjustments if this is the case.

Any update on this devon@ebay ?

What an absurd hike. Luckily I have access to Stallion Express. 

I can ship something tracked to the UK for under $8 with Stallion, but I can't send the same thing to Quebec for under like $10 now? Makes zero sense.

Please Keep us posted, sure looks like an approximately 50% increase on all expedited lite labels from what I can see. Some of us with Fixed shipping amount need to know ASAP to make adjustments if this is not a glitch. Seems odd ebay would give us a heads up that the discount amount was changing.

Does anyone else see a return of minimum dimensions for expedited lite (23x20x2.5)? I wonder if this is what's causing the price differences? Maybe it's overinflating the dimensions again.
