Move my store from .com to .ca

I just got off the phone with EBay help and apparently the only way I can open a store on .ca is to completely close my EBay account and start a brand new account. Ive already closed my .com store. I’ve had my account since 1999 and this seems crazy! There must be a way to do this. I’m tired of paying out in US dollars when our dollar is so low.

You are registered in Canada, there is no need for a new account. You simply have to close the US Store and open a Canadian Store.

One issue you will have with that is that you will not be able to use the same Store name until it has been unused for 30 days.

The other issue you will have, if your payouts are currently in US Dollars then you can't change that to CAD, it would require a new account. Unlike in the PayPal days when payouts currency could be changed once a year with MP that is not possible. Moving to a CA Store will be cheaper but it won't change the payout currency.

If we wind up in a no de minimis situation to the US I'll be facing the currency issue - no way will I sell on .CA and lose 10% between eBay and the bank conversions from USD on CAD sales.

Move my store from .com to .ca

I have the same problem. I want to move my store from ebay.com to ebay. ca and there is no chance! Since March 01. 2025 I try to open a store on ebay.ca ( I closed my store on ebay.com )  and the system always sends me a message " Something went wrong, please try later again" Multible phone calls calls with ebay were not helpfull at all. They always just " creating a ticket" or prommisse you to call you back - but nothing happen- just silence. It is a shame that a big company as ebay is not able to resolve a simple known problem within 7 weeks to todays date.

The phone reps have a terrible reputation for getting you off the phone as soon as possible even if that means giving you the advice you want to hear instead of the advice you need to have.

Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

The social media Chat accounts are covered by trained eBay employees with some authority.
And you get a transcript so you can compare what you heard with what you were told.

Are you trying to use the same email address and/or username you used with dot com? That could be causing the issue.
