The customer should be able to secure that info through the purchase history.(available from their eBay account, assuming the buyer has an active account)
However, the seller can obtain some info, but maybe not exactly what is needed, by going through this method: In Seller Hub >Payments>All transactions>to the box that defaults to"Last 90 days" click on the down arrow and select custom> then select your time frame>click on the order # and then you can obtain some of the info, just not the exact info as would have been contained within the original packing slip.
Has the buyer not attempted to check their own purchase history?

As long as they have an eBay account, the buyer can do this from their purchase history. They need to go to My Ebay -> Purchase History, click on View Order Details for the order in question. If it's older than 2 or 3 years they may have to just print off that screen. If it's newer, there should be a link at the bottom of the page to View Invoice which gives the full tax invoice.

thanks to all for the info -- they claim that they can only back about a year to print any receipts out and I am sure this purchase was about 13/14 months ago -- so they, as I have ,no records past a year -- they used to be able to go back more than before I remember, but not any more I guess . i hope this doesn't really screw him up with the audit

Under their purchases there should be a tab for all or by year (See orders). When I checked mine it lets me go back to 2018. This was on a PC. Unsure how it looks with app.

I was able to go back about 2.5 years for the full tax receipt and well beyond that for just the normal receipt (without the HST numbers).
You can sort of get the packing slip for them yourself. After 3 months it no longer shows their name or address, but it does show the item, amount, tax, etc. It might help them at least a little. It doesn't have the GST/HST numbers though. You can get it by selecting the order and going to the Shipping box up above and clicking Print Packing Slip And More.

Maybe it could also be under "Show hidden" rather than All Purchases? I don't know if all shows hidden or not.
