.com MP sellers - are pending funds available for USPS label purchase?

Will be switched to MP next week and signed up for USD to avoid paying exchange fees on label purchases on .com for USPS, FedEx, etc.

Asked an MP specialist in live chat if pending funds will be available to purchase these labels and was told flat-out no, that was only available to US sellers. Will have to pay with another payment method which will now cost me 5 percent exchange fees (2.5 to get money out, 2.5 on a Canadian credit card).

Anybody doing this with pending funds? I hope the rep was wrong!

You can use pending funds to buy ebay shipping labels.  They are Canada Post only.

So the idea of integration is not fully in place - guess I'll look into a USD credit card and probably use Pirate Ship going forward. At least FedEx labels are billed so those should be exchange free ( my billing currency is USD). Thanks for the reply!

I'm under the impression that we can't buy anything with MP funds.

We can only transfer them to a  Canadian bank (although we can attach either a USD account or a Cdn $ account, but not both).

Then we would have to buy any shipping labels from that account.

Am I wrong?

I sell on both,  mostly on .ca but have some listings on .com that don't require calculated shipping for Canada - just fixed postage price.

For the most part, I find the ebay shipping labels on .ca work ok.  I opted for the MP weekly payout as the charge for purchasing labels usually takes a couple business days to come out of either pending or available funds.

You can buy eBay CP labels on .ca with money that you have pending in MP.

US sellers can do the same on .com.

I just switched to MP on Monday, and I found out the hard way that pending funds for USPS labels cannot be used. I chose payouts in CA$ as I assumed that I could use pending payments to pay for the USPS labels. Ebay did say that pending payouts could be used for label payments, what they entirely forgot to mention is that THEY CANNOT BE USED FOR USPS LABELS. Too bad, because I would have chosen US$ payouts to cover the US$ USPS labels and not have to pay the conversion rate twice. Like 'cottagewoman' mentioned, I will now have a double currency conversion for buying USPS labels. Hopefully they will change this in the future some time.

I just got off a chat session about this a few minutes ago. The 'specialist' came up with this entirely false reason: he said .ca is not set up for shipping label payments from 'pending payments' at this time, for Canada shipping or any other.

Yeah, so to clear some of the confusion up currently the pending payout function is for the us site, we are working to make it available to the other sites like .ca .uk shortly.

So it is not available on the .ca site. I have to print the USPS labels on the .com site. So I am not using .ca for USPS labels, I am using .com.

I have to use .com to print US shipping labels, and the pending payment option for shipping labels is available on the .com site.

As long as the account is registered on the .ca it will not have the functionality to have pending payouts until it is brought on to your home site.

Does that mean that everyone registered with .ca has to use Paypal for Ebay labels, whether they want to print Canada Post of USPS labels? No Canadian can use 'pending balance' for any type of shipping labels right now?
