unable to delete old (more than 6 month) ebay messages; how can I fix this?

I know it says ebay will permanently delete messages in my ebay message centre that are more than 6 months old. this is not happening and I am not given the option to manually do so; needless to say these old messages begin to pile up over time. How can I get rid of these older messages. Any help greatly appreciated.

Maybe there is something glitchy with your account? 

I just tried it, and I deleted a bunch of old messages, all over 6 months old (good reminder for me to clean up my Inbox).

I can delete from my inbox but the problem is with the files in the Deleted folder; these are the ones that ebay does not remove or allow me to manually remove; just for clarification purposes in case my initial note didn't explain my issue clearly. Okay. That makes sense. I never checked the "Deleted" folder (out of sight, out of mind). 

What I can see in mine is that deleted messages over one year old are missing. Maybe that's the cutoff from eBay to permanently removing them?

I think that is likely the solution, they remove after a year and not 6 months; thanks for the help, much appreciated !
