Adding a US based bank account to a Canadian Paypal account

I looked under bank accounts to see if I could add an actual US bank (not tied to any Canadian Bank) account but it does not seem to allow this.

Does anyone know for sure if it can be done or not?

I will call Paypal tomorrow as well when they are open.

This has been discussed before but by looking at my Paypal profile, it will no allow a bank account from another country.

Does that mean I can't add an actual US domiciled bank account to Payal in Canada. I deal with the US Bank in th States and would like to add them so I can transfer US dollars to them.

Yes it can be done.  Step by step:

-  Log on to your PayPal account

-  Go to Profile,

-  Edit or Add bank accounts,

-  ADD

-  I have a different bank

-  Change country from Canada to USA

-  Enter name of your US bank

- you can take it from there by adding the bank account (very carefully)

I have a US bank tied to my paypal account.  My money goes from paypal to the US account no problems.  I went down to the US and set up and account and then went to paypal and entered the information in.  Works for me.  

Now in order to have a US bank account, I had to get a tax number, that was a little more of a hassle but not impossible.
