Canadians open to ending door-to-door delivery, government-commissioned poll finds

Less than a year after implementation of Canada's community mailboxes was put on hold, a poll commissioned by the Liberal government indicates two-thirds of Canadians support a transition away from home delivery to these boxes in urban and suburban centres.
The poll also suggests Canadians are widely satisfied with the services they receive from Canada Post, but would be willing to accept some changes — including alternate day delivery.....

The timing and content of this poll seem a bit odd to me. We already knew this from the study cited by the Standing Committee on Canada Post. (It's referenced extensively in their 133-page report.) And also, this poll was conducted as things were heating up with the postal labour unrest this summer.
So we have a study redundant to the work already underway done at the most heated moment for CPC within the last three to four years.....? One aspect makes it seem unnecessary while the other purely questionable from a political point of view. And that's not even shining a light on to the actual policitcs behind this.
