I've made a number of purchases through e-bay and up until now it's been a pleasant experience. I use my Pay-Pal account which makes the transactions easy and I do know many sellers prefer the Pay-Pal system.
I buy a snooker cue from a seller in B.C. according to the information the product is located in a town not far from my location.
Seller advises " allow 2-3 days " for delivery, 12 days later I'm still waiting ? actually the cue was shipped from China, when I questioned the shipping time the seller was quite annoyed, didn't like me questioning him.
When the cue arrived it had a slight ( very slight ) warp, I contacted the seller, according to him all his cues are " checked " prior to shipping and they are all straight ,, mine was not.
I just play casual snooker and the warp was, as I said, slight I had the choice of shipping it back to his location in B.C. ( at my cost of course ) or accepting a small refund, I chose the refund.
After four games using this cue the sound was off, the concensus was that there was a crack in the cue.
I was within the 14 days return period so I contacted the seller, I asked him to replace the cue or refund my money, he was again quite annoyed with my communication and told me to return the cue ( and of course at my expense ).
This seller's attitude leaves a great deal to be desired ,,, one thing I did notice on the original waybill, the parcel was sent as a " gift " from China ,, at no time did I ever request the cue be sent as a " gift ".
Further in the section " declared value " it has $ 25.00 USD that is totally false, the value of the cue was $ 139.00 USD.
What would you do ? would you inform e-bay about this sellers way of doing business ? and I wonder how the Canadian Border Service would act regarding the false information on the waybill ?
