Twice recently I purchased an item, the location of which indicated the U.S. Both of these arrived, eventually, from China. The first item took a month or so, and when the second item was still not here after 3 weeks, I realized that it too would likely be coming from China. I was right.
Now, both items were fine; I have no complaint about them. But I was wondering if a seller is not obliged to indicate somewhere in his/her listing that this would be shipped from China so the buyer would know that it would take some time. I know drop shipping is very popular and there's nothing prohibiting it, but how is a buyer supposed to know they are in for a long wait, even if the item shows a U.S. location.

Wow! Thanks for the link. Clearly a violation.

Both sellers are fairly new with little feedback but their buyers seem to be happy. Either they don't know it's a violation or they don't care. I hate to be the bad guy here by reporting them since, aside from the wait, I was very happy with the items.

Apart from the wait, the buyer could incur an import tax bill they were not expecting.
