FVF credit for removed listing due to suspicious buyer

I had an encounter with a buyer who I believe tried to scam me by asking for my Paypal address and item number instead of paying directly through eBay. The day before I was able to file an UID, I received the MC098 suspicious buyer email from eBay, and my listing was removed entirely.
I checked in my Account Activity, and I was charged the FVF for the $200 item I didn't sell.

The scary part is, I listed the item again, but the same thing happened AGAIN (another attempted scam). So now I have two FVFs totalling $40!!

This time, I cancelled the order before ebay could remove the listing but I'm still afraid I won't get my FVF credits for whatever reason.

Will I receive credit in this case, or should I be eligible for credit?

Should I bother to sell this item again?

FVF credit for removed listing due to suspicious buyer

How did you cancel the order? If you used the cancel order function in eBay you should receive a credit for your fvf but it may take about 10 days. If you don't see the credit by then, you should phone eBay.

For the first one, it's odd that you weren't credited for the sale right away since eBay was the one who cancelled the sale. You will probably have to phone them about that as you should not have to pay for that.

That type of item can tend to draw scammers. If you do relist it you should list is as a buy in now and use the immediate payment required option.....it should be on the sell your item form but you would probably have to use the advanced version. (link for advanced form on top right of syi form)

You should also block buyers who have a primary address of a country that you don't ship to. Right now any buyers can bid because you don't actually have them blocked. You can find that in 'my account' - site preferences - buyer preferences
