Has anyone else been ripped off by seller?

I can't get these people to communicate with me on this issue they keep ignoring me and sending me auto reply emails. I sent back their product that never worked properly after I had to get a professional to install it and now they won't refund my money. I bought an HD camera set from and they ripped me off. I can't get any help from ebay because it took over 60 days for them to get back to me on how to return the item!! What do I do?

Go to the credit card you really paid with. Paypal is just a useful mediator.

Phone the 1-800 customer service number and ask about a chargeback.

Have all your paperwork, dates, transaction numbers, tracking numbers, currency, payments, handy to help the rep refund you.

While credit cards have longer deadlines, they do have deadlines so act immediately.

In future.

If an item takes over 30 days to arrive (yes, even from Asia, do you know how many planes arrive from Hong Kong alone in Vancouver daily?) contact the seller and ask for shipping date, shipping service and tracking number.

If an item is Not As Described, contact the seller and ask for a refund. He will probably ask that the item be returned.

Use an Air Mail and Tracked service. It is more expensive, starting at $40 for overseas, but no tracking, no proof of delivery, no refund.

If the seller does not immediately agree, or if 42 days have passed since purchase open an Item Not As Described dispute in the Resolution Centre at the bottom of this page.

If the seller does not refund you and you can prove return delivery, Paypal will refund you and go after the seller for their money.

Phone the credit card company. Good luck.

You could have gone to Help & Contact to find out what steps to take when an item is not as described or you could have come here when you first had a problem. You didn't need to wait for ebay.

I think a credit card chargeback has a 90 day deadline so if you paid with a credit card, make sure you do not let the deadline expire.

Non payers should get unpaid item strikes and be added to block bidders lists. Period.
