Hello, how can i cancel a bid?

Hello, I'm new to ebay and I just saw this note; * If you have been outbid, you may still become the high bidder if, for example, the seller cancels a bid received by another bidder or lowers a reserve price. Do you know how I can cancel my bid? I'd like to know that I'm buying something if I put a bid on it and it's accepted, not find out later that I owe later because someone else has cancelled their bid. I've placed a few bids on many boots because my bids were out bidder. Now I might end up with a lot of boots if I don't cancel them.

Hi roseshopper .. Do not bid on more similar items than you want simultaneously. It does happen that a seller or buyer cancels a bid and you become high again. It may be a small risk if you are 3-4 times removed from the second high bidder.

Can ask seller to cancel a bid . Here is Ebay's retraction policy but legit reasons for cancelling are restricted..

Place listings on watch list in your myebay and follow progress. Place a maximum bid as close to auction's end as possible.
