I bought earphones for my MP3 player but I did not notice that it was not the right jack size, can I ask for refund?

The seller says that he wants to refund me, but he wants me to change my feedback for positive first, should I trust him?

Yes and no.  Smiley Happy

Your seller is wondering the same about you.  Therefore, you will want to be as earnest and

sincere as possible when you very sweetly explain that according to ebay policy, he is required

to resolve the problem (in this case, refund you) before seeking a feedback revision.

You can send him the following link:

http://pages.ebay.ca/help/feedback/revision-request.html

Note where under the heading, "When can I submit a Feedback revision request?", it clearly

tells sellers,  "Only after you've resolved a problem with the transaction".

He hasn't done that yet, has he?  You see, once you revise your feedback to positive, he has

no reason to refund you.  You can, of course, file a claim for 'Item Not as Described', but you

would have to return the item with Delivery Confirmation at your own expense.  This next link

will tell you more about that:

http://pages.ebay.ca/help/buy/item-not-received.html

Now then, if you are wondering what it would cost to return an item to Hong Kong with

Delivery Confirmation, see this next link to Canada Post rates:

http://www.canadapost.ca/cpotools/apps/far/personal/findARate?execution=e1s1

If you don't use Delivery Confirmation, your seller will say it never arrived, and nor will paypal

consider your claim.

So your only chance for a refund at this point is to kindly explain to the seller that your great

disappointment caused you to leave that negative in haste, that you regret it now, and will

be ever-so pleased to revise it to positive the instant he refunds you.

And make sure you have actually got the money back before you do it.

And if you get the refund, - promptly leave some happy green comment about how wonderful

the seller is.

If you get the refund.

Good luck.

And here's a takeaway.

Feedback is the LAST part of the transaction.

Using negative feedback to draw attention to a problem is a good way to make sure the problem will not be solved.

At this point, by ordering the wrong item, which is on YOUR shoulders since the seller has no clue what kind of machine you are using, and blaming the seller for YOUR error, you make it very difficult for the seller to cooperate in resolving the problem.

Something else ! We are sellers who have 11 NEGS in last 12 months ( over 5,000 items sold ) Many do not even leave feed backs

& we only leave feedbacks once buyer leaves for us.  Of those MAYBE one was really deserved, the rest could have been worked out with communication.

HERE's the problem..........A seller based on GOOD DSR's ( Dealer satisfaction Rating) gets a 20% discount on their ebay fees

( OURS usually $2,000+ a month) 20% = $400 a lot of money..........IF we get too many Negs or low ratings in one quarter ( 3 months) we loose that 20% for the sake of NO prior communication.

Sellers ( most) will refund or accept item back, rather than loose the 20%,  FAR better to leave a NEG as last resort. Don't be too hasty, you have 60 days to leave F/B. Sellers also view YOUR feedbacks given by other sellers & feedbacks you have left for others......Too many negs, gets you blocked before you even buy. WE also offer refund to those leaving negs, but only after removal of Neg.    Human nature !!  Go through dispute process. Much easier for all concerned
