I thought I was resolving an issue with a seller, they offered to replace the item. They never have

I received a faulty item from a seller, they said I could keep this one and they would send another.  I waited.  I've not received it ( it was coming from China).  Now, the time has passed to deal with the issue through Ebay.  I would suggest now that no one agree to being sent another item as by that time, your time to resolve an issue has passed, the item has not arrived and you will not be refunded.  Apparently that sellers address is no longer valid either: .

Be advised you will want to have any situations dealt with well within the 30 days of ordering.

You're right.

The 'replacement' scam has been going on for some time now. And mostly from China.

I don't know why people think a replacement will be any better, in quality or prompt arrival. Sigh.

However, they have not caught on to Paypal's newish Dispute deadline of 180 days from payment.

PP's Resolution Centre is hidden under Tools at the top of your account page.

The procedure is pretty much the same as eBay's.

When they suggest that you contact the seller, you have already done that, so just go on to a Claim.

If the seller cannot prove delivery, you will be refunded. If the seller doesn't refund voluntarily, PP will and go after him for their money.

And they have access to his financial information.

Mwah hah hah hah !

Apparently that sellers address is no longer valid either:

File a Report with eBay for incorrect contact information.

In the PP dispute mention this also.

You get slightly longer than that to open a claim with eBay. You have to open a claim within 30 days after the item has been delivered OR 30 days after the latest estimated arrival date.

As Femme mentioned, you can also file a claim on Paypal for up to 180 days after purchase.

PP will ask you to pay for the return shipping, this will render almost all Chinese widget purchases immune from PP claims as they would cost more to return than the refund.

You're right...I was thinking that this was an inr situation rather than a nad.  My bad!
