I will not purchase an item that has the "global shipping program".

I have been purchasing many items since approximately 2006 with no issues. Why should I now have to pay extra versus say USPS. Again this is wrong and I have started using Amazon more often ............................sorry!!

If a seller is using the GSP, they still may ship their item via USPS. Your item would still be delivered (if applicable) by USPS.

I totally agree. The problem is the system does not give the buyer the choice, the fees are added in for payment up front for the item to show as paid. The only way to avoid these extra fees which can amount to hundreds of dollars is for the seller to opt out of the GSP.

Once a seller is in the program that is the only way they can ship. When payment is made they are only given the address of the clearing house and not the address of the buyer.
